Hello Fediverse! Here is my #Introduction: Setting up an account and finding my footing. By nature, I am a quiet observer and prefer reading, learning, and following thoughtful feeds over posting. Topics I enjoy following: • #Electronics & electrical tinkering • #Homelab & #SelfHosted infrastructure • #Music, guitar & composing #TTRPG scores • Hands-on building & maker craft Happy to read and learn from the community. Feed recommendations are welcome!

It's been a while. "baby it's fine / you interrupt my sleep again" (random fact about me: i love htrk. love is not the right word) Some time ago I deleted my social media. I thought this will push me to reach out to the people outside the internet. I ended up lonelier. "I was just a lonely girl / in the eyes of my inner child" (Sophie died 3 weeks after I came out as a woman. It felt like loosing a sister I've just found out about) As a siren, I will have all of eternity to live happily in the ocean of tenderness. As a human, I'm here for only a little while, and I just can't help yearning for belonging. So... "Let's just do something for fun" 🧜🏼‍♀️ #introduction #music #siren #lesbian #sapphic #femme #tenderness

What does $1700 sound like? https://youtu.be/p8jJSqG1Vwc Audeze makes some of my favorite headphones, especially their professional cans. The new MM-520 are a different flavor of tuning that might not be my favorite. What should we expect when prices climb this high? #tech #technology #technews #audio #music #video #review

I was unhappy with most of the #music tech products out there. So I built Songhive as a self-hosted music platform that had everything I wanted: 💿 Standard music library management. Playlists, albums, tags, genres etc., plus automatic deduplication and audio metadata management over MusicBrainz 📂 Support for music from external cloud storage. Plug your S3 bucket, Dropbox account, Google Drive or Nextcloud folder loaded of MP3 files, and manage them under one roof ☁ ️Integration with external music providers (only TIDAL and YouTube for now), so you can import your playlists and favourite songs onto your own server 💰 Support for payments. Are you a tech enthusiast who would like to host a small music server for their family and friends, and would like them to contribute to the costs for hosting their music collections? You can activate subscriptions with custom amounts and custom billing periods on your platform. Are you a musician tired of being ripped off by traditional centralized music streaming platforms, labels and other middlemen, while having no control over your catalog and distribution? You can upload your tracks to a #Songhive instance, or host your own (ideal if run a small music label), connect your Stripe payout account, put individual tracks or albums on sale, and generate direct download links 🗣️ Full social integration over #ActivityPub. Songhive is basically a Mastodon instance with a music library around, or a Jellyfin instance with a Mastodon server around. Publish your tracks and albums, and they'll automatically appear on your followers' timelines. You can also share content with other Songhive or Funkwhale instances, follow Mastodon accounts and interact with them 📊 Listening stats and support for scrobbling to last.fm / libre.fm 🔊 #Subsonic API, so you can stream music from your local instance over any Subsonic-compatible app or speaker 🔁 Ability to #share your private tracks, playlists or collections with others through retractable share links 📻 Live radios! Create your playlists or listening queue, and stream it over Icecast, Snapcast, or native HTTP music streams. Build your radio station and share it as a simple link. It also supports live recording. Ideal for live podcasts, for streaming concerts or jams, or add some DJ-style talk between the tracks on your radio 🛜 Podcasts, with support for synchronization over any gPodder-compatible app 🔗 Links 🏠 My own instance: manganiello.music 📻 My own 24/7 live radio (I may occasionally perform some guitar + loop station live jams on it too): manganiello.music/streams/fabio.mp3 🛠️ Codebase: git.fabiomanganiello.com/songhive (includes documentation to run your own Docker stack) 🛠️ Github mirror: github.com/blacklight/songhive

Hey, if you're currently paying for Spotify, this is your sign to switch to something better. I have a few coupons for 2 free months of Qubuz, a music streaming platform that pays musicians better, doesn't allow AI music, and has better music quality to give out. You can import all your playlists! DM me if you'd like a link. #music Edit: one invite given out. Four remain, but I'm keeping one in reserve in case my mom wants it.

#AlternateFridayMusic for October 9 2026 the theme is "Vitriol" Artist: Elvis Costello & The Attractions Album: All This Useless Beauty (1996) Song: Complicated Shadows https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5A8ZUB6b1I But the jury was dismissed Took his neck and they give it a twist So you see you won't be missed in those Complicated Shadows I find Elvis Costello extremely uneven, but this album is a high point. This song was originally written for Johnny Cash (and a later album contains the more country-style version) but they electrified it for this version and it's Costello at his most biting. Lyrically its about misguided vigilantism, but I love the vicious tone of the words. #music #ElvisCostello
