#JukeboxFridayNight #PlayTime#AlternateFridayMusic #Remix I'm putting both of the Friday music hashtags on this one for the following reasons: "Dear Prudence, greet the brand-new day The sun is up, the sky is blue It's beautiful and so are you Dear Prudence, won't you come out to play?" In 1968, the Beatles visited India to study meditation. Mia Farrow and her sister Prudence (the subject of the song "Dear Prudence") were there at the same time. The Esher Demos are recordings made at George Harrison’s bungalow at Kinfauns, Esher, in 1968 after the band's return from India. The majority of the recordings appeared at least partially on the White Album. In November 2018, after the 50th anniversary of the album’s release, an expanded reissue was released with new stereo remixes, outtakes and the original Esher demo recordings. In this demo of "Dear Prudence," there is a spoken addition at the end, in what sounds like John's voice: "She was struck by an illness in the middle of her meditation course in Rishikesh, India. No one was to know that s-s-sooner or later, she was to go completely berserk under the care of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. All the people around were very worried about the girl because she was going insane, so we sang to her. Thank you" Dear Prudence (Esher Demo) - The Beatles

#AlternateFridayMusic#Remix I like a remix that makes you think 'nah, this isn't really that different' and then hits you with 'oh yes it is'. Morcheeba - The Sea

I knew that #friday came after #thurday, but I didn't know that after a #musiquinta came either a #fortnightFridayMusic or an #alternateFridayMusic ! Always learning... And it seems that today is #alternateFridayMusic day, with the topic #remix . And since my #WeeklyShirt today was in celebration of Jessicka Addams's birthday and the memorable reunion show I went to London specifically to see 11 years ago today... well, the remix song I am in the mood to spin today is a Jack Off Jill track: they had a remix EP released in 1998 called "Covetous Creature", mixing a few songs from their debut album of the previous year. The CD doesn't have a single track I dislike or that wouldn't be a good fit for this toot, but I guess I must choose... and so I picked up "Girlscout (Sunday Mix)", because since I'm celebrating a riot grrrl band, nothing better than to pick a remix made by a woman, and this one was made by Susan Wallace (of Switchblade Symphony fame). Here goes: Girl Scout "Sunday Mix" - Jack Off Jill ft. Susan Wallace https://inv.nadeko.net/watch?v=lyNN2BdDipE

I love remixes. Here's an awesome #remix for #AlternateFridayMusic@axwax@chaos.social + @socool@ravenation.club = 🤯

#AlternateFridayMusic for October 23 2026 the theme is "Remix" Artist: They Might Be Giants Album: Miscellaneous T (1991) Song: The World's Address (Joshua Fried Remix) I first heard TMBG's first two albums because of a friend on the Internet (back in 1992) who mailed me some tapes of her favourite music. She loved "The World's Address", and I tried to, but I found it kind of meh. And then I heard this version on the B-sides compilation "Miscellaneous T" and I found it much more interesting. All sorts of found-sound samples, spicing up the duller parts of the song. No idea who Joshua Fried is (is it "freed" or "fried"?) but good job. #music #TheyMightBeGiants
