@leah@chaos.social sunset at the Grand Canyon. Wild weather. Unfortunately it caused a bunch of flash flooding 😭 but it was beautiful.

I glue badly written software to other badly written software, in an attempt to get it to do something useful. Sometimes it even works!

@b0rn_dead@metalhead.club @cmconseils@mastodon.social you could try asking the artist? I found their gallery page that includes this one, but the image is framed differently.

@avatastic@avatastic.uk @catsalad@infosec.exchange direct link, you'll probably need translation? TL;DR 3 major RAM manufacturers have already sold their planned output for 2027, with no plans to increase output. That means a major supply squeeze.

@0xabad1dea@infosec.exchange if their critical bands are different from ours, the audio codec may be incredibly obvious to them.
(Imagine a display that used red yellow blue instead, same idea)

@IceWolf@masto.brightfur.net @noisytoot@berkeley.edu.pl @jwildeboer@social.wildeboer.net pretty sure openh264 is ok to use - the license is paid by Cisco without their wanting to be paid back for it. It's not a cleanroom reimplemention or such, but is actually licensed.
But if you're really concerned and need the codec, maybe have a lawyer check it over.

@angrylinus@mastodon.social @vvelox @Viss@mastodon.social gz is a stream compressor and can only do a single file. You still need something for multiple-file archives.

I can't think of a more appropriate place given it's out of scope for passwd/shadow.

@maxoakland@mastodon.social @eniko@mastodon.gamedev.place my $0.02: lots of "preaching to the choir" sorts of things, especially about topics I can't actually do anything about myself (examples include Ukraine and Gaza - I don't need to be reminded daily about how horrible people are being to each other).
But also lots of shitpost things and posting games! (and related hashtags)

@petitmote same, or maybe shift the framing to put the ducks' bottoms along the bottom rule-of-thirds line?
But putting that aside, an amazingly gorgeous shot @Landsil !!!

@gamingonlinux@mastodon.social they still do it, just at radio or infrared frequencies instead of merely audible.
(Coax? it's a radio signal sent down the conductor. Fiber? Modulated infrared sent down the fiber. 5G? Literal radio. Dialup? It was never actually an audio signal, but it was a signal at a low enough speed to be heard and handled by circuitry designed for audio.)
Replying to
@GossiTheDog@cyberplace.social ... also never turn off ASLR! Why would someone do that nowadays!?
