Bought a pair of Loop Engage 2 Plus earplugs. 🤞 it'll help me in busy/crowded situations to get some calm. They won't arrive in time for #KawaiiCon, I'm afraid, but I'll see how it goes.

So, the #Anthropic public filing says that... " Claude could go out of control, with no one knowing how to stop it " Has nobody heard of the concept of literally pulling the plug?

Anyone using the #KDE #NASA #APOD for the wallpaper settings, and not getting the wallpaper? It seems to be a recent problem, but I can't figure out what's going on

Hi toots.nu! I'm a long-time Clash of Clans player from Vietnam who also builds small iOS apps. I mostly post base-building notes: where to put the Clan Castle, how to split air defenses, what actually holds up in Clan War League. Happy to swap tips with anyone who still plays. #ClashOfClans #introduction

I just wasted most of my evening debugging my server's nftables, which I was trying to set up to not ever send container traffic to my tailnet. Turns out I misread the required packet mark 0x80000 as 0x800000. I should really look into network namespaces, and just stuff Tailscale and the relevant services in one of those (is that how it works?)

I did the "I want to replace the lightbulb so I'm fixing the shelf so ... so I'm fixing my car" thing: on Monday I wanted to look at VPN providers to find a replacement for Mullvad. So far I have a tiny web service in OCaml, my Emacs set up to write Android apps, and the Android app to communicate with the service. I still haven't looked at a single VPN provider.

I know that the campus reopening is important information, but do I really need to receive *5* copies of the email? AFAICT those come from me being - a student at the university - an employee of the university - a person associated with the campus - a person associated with a faculty with offices on the campus - a member of a team with offices on the campus Surely at least the last two are redundant?

Fucking *GNU LilyPond* now has an AGENTS.md and .agents/skills. And assisted commits don't have any markers AFAICT. What are we doing? This is software for musicians! Whatever, I hope the last release without it (from summer 2024) is clean

New LUTI2/LUTI4 SIMD instructions on the Apple M6 are fast! 4 per cycle throughput, 2 cycle latency (on the S-cores), matching TBL (on all cores). Nice for pivco-huffman (and presumably some other SIMD compression schemes). There also seems to be some SIMD/FP FMIN/FMAX fusion (for clamps and reductions), but tragically not for SIMD integer min/max. Other neat new fusions: SIMD CMGT/CMEQ + AND/ORR and scalar shift (unsigned or by imm) + AND #imm. https://docsmirror.github.io/A64/2025-06/luti2_a...

RE: https://supervolcano.angryshark.eu/@AdaraAstin/115466503341357020 I'd love to connect more listeners with my spooky audiobook collection between now and Halloween! 🎃 They're fun, campy, and spicy. Just the trick-or-treat you deserve. 😉 Not sure where to start? I warmly recommend The Cauldron, for its drive-in B-movie vibes and explicitly Halloween setting. Go on, treat yourself. You know you want to. 💋 Learn more about them in the post below! 👇 @audiofiction @bookstodo...
