PLEASE BOOST FOR ME! It's spring in my corner of the world, and warming up quickly in the rush to summer. I rent my home, and while I have a portable air conditioner in the bedroom, in the high Aussie heat of summer of over 40C/104F, it's still far too hot in the rest of the house, and makes my disabilities and chronic illness worse. I have no aircon or fans in the rest of my tiny apartment, and with my disabilities and chronic illness, I could really use a fan this year, so I'm not shut in the bedroom constantly. I really need a 40cm, metal blade fan for it to be effective along with my usual cooling towel, cooling mat etc. I live under the poverty line, so this is out of reach for me. If you could help make it possible for me to get the fan I need, and help make spring and summer more bearable with disability and chronic health issues, it would be much appreciated. Hi everyone, I need to raise $280 this month for October groceries and platform maintenance. I’m a disabled Indonesian independent writer and mutual aid organiser, and this work is sustained largely through community support rather than a fixed salary. $80 is for groceries for the second half of October, with a deadline of 15 October. I’ve already covered my electricity, water, and internet for the month, and I still have enough food to get me through roughly the middle of October. I just need to make sure I can restock for the final two weeks. The remaining $200 is for one year of VPS hosting for wrzky.com and mutualaidspace.org, with a deadline of 20 October. My current shared web hosting renews on 30 October, so I need that time to set up the VPS, migrate and test both production sites, switch everything over properly, and make sure there is no service interruption, especially on mutualaidspace.org. Hopefully, we can meet this goal a lot sooner than that. mutualaidspace.org is the public-facing mutual aid infrastructure I’ve been building: campaign amplification, submitted requests, weekly roundups, and federation across the Fediverse. The server-side work has grown beyond what makes sense to keep forcing through shared hosting. wrzky.com needs to move with it. It's my publishing home, and it's also where I build and test federation infrastructure and prototypes before developing them further for mutualaidspace.org. Some of that prototype work has been sitting on hold, and keeping wrzky.com on shared hosting would leave the development side of the project under the same limits I’m trying to move away from. A Thing about being disabled on a fixed income is that if anything else comes up near the end of a month you're just stuck. I've ran low on household cleaning supplies and hygiene things without enough to address that. Also I'm fighting off another pain flareup by not exerting myself in the kitchen much. 150 total and I'm good.
