@mekkaokereke@hachyderm.io my dream vehicle/form factor is an electric Kei truck with a bed that can just hold a full sheet of plywood.
Small enough to commute to work as needed but can carry the home owner/woodworking hobby stuff I want
I don't need it to haul a yard of mulch or whatever. Just me, a passenger, and some stuff in the bed as needed
I didn't need a Sherman tank sized vehicle for that

@zachleat@fediverse.zachleat.com @erkhyan@yiff.life couple similar analogies can start with:
A billion is to a million like 10 dollars to a penny, or a thousand dollars to one dollar.
Much easier for us but millionaires or billionaires to get our heads around and to communicate the the mind boggling number that a billion dollars is for one person to have.
And as always, billionaires shouldn't exist

@mcc yeah, looks like blacksky got sideswiped or whatever
I guess there's only so much Rudy and his pirate crew can do.
I'm expecting blacksky will build back better

@sungo@social.sungo.space true enough
But you don't own the company or decide what is does
I think openai and Anthropic and Facebook and Google and Microsoft are villains several orders of magnitude worse than you
I get the conflict you might be having but I didn't begrudge someone doing what they can to survive in the current economy and world
Just sucks

Storms rolled through ( an inch of rain in less than 90 minutes) and like 90 minutes later we lost power
Since I didn't grind the chuck roast yesterday for burgers for lunch I can't use the KitchenAid now
So, I had to dig up my Chinese cleavers and do it old school
I don't quite have the same speed and power I did when I bought these

plus I saw a comment about Patel, Hegseth, and Kavanaugh throwing outrageous keggers/benders together, or something to that effect.

@philsplace@mastodon.sdf.org @mekkaokereke@hachyderm.io I had a dodge ram 1500 from 2002-2025.
It could haul a full sheet, but not for it in the bed as you noted.
I was sorely tempted to get a minivan that actually could
I just couldn't bring myself to spend that kind of money on a new vehicle.
