Whoohoo, #Serbia 🇷🇸! The democratic demos won, it seems. (via German evening news, @tagesschau) Now, they can continue their accession to the #EU 🇪🇺, which seems to have stalled in 2012. I'm likely missing a few memos - i'm not a historian. It seems, the opposition, to whatever caused that train station collapse, is now able to rectify matters. Go, fix your country! ✊ And then, join the EU - it's gonna be difficult, but it's gonna be worth it! 🖖 live long, and...

It's been a bit of a struggle, reading those tiny font #NutritionalFacts labels, at my local #Aldi. (it's time for new glasses, i'm aware) I think, i've selected the specimen with the LEAST amount of #sugar, but it's still 5.4%. I'm talking about pickled cucumbers - why THE FUCK is there SO MUCH sugar? Here, in Germany, we'd call those "Saure Gurken" - literally sour cucumbers - those are supposed to be sour, certainly...

You will never overclock a pedestrian supermarket microwave cheeseburger, without Gorgonzola! That's a fact! It CANNOT be done! Not even roasted onions, or Danish hot-dog sauce can help! I NEED my burger dripping with melted, double, tripple, Gorgonzola cheese - quattro friggen frommagi! 🤌 🤣 ...and fresh onions, and tomato, and mayonnaise! The heresy! 🤣 🍻

Got your popcorn ready? Get a load of this fine specimen! I knew #pfSense wasn't exactly fond of the #OPNsense fork, but for 🦊 sake, i didn't know THAT! 😱 Well, i'm kinda into #MikroTik #RouterOS, these days. So, i won't be partaking in any of that sithshow. 🤣 #GamersNexus, feat. #Level1Techs Wendell: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJidlu3pPb4

Aging #Millennial; currently, i'm only mildly worried about our #future administration (here in DE/EU). But i've seen #Zoomer gen use #AI and touch-only input schemes - go, look up #iPad babies. Not exactly the #IT #competence, i WANT my future #administration to rely on. Our future generations MUST NOT be dumbed-down to a simplified (imho, rather "castrated") touch-only user interface! WE NEED competent IT staff, to keep society running in a reasonable-enoug...

#Mozilla #Thunderbird keeps crashing - v158.0.1, on #Manjaro #Linux, using latest updates. I've clicked an email link, in Chromium - yup, that's all i did - yoink, crash! I'll keep reminding Mozilla, EVERY SINGLE TIME, Thunderbird crashes. These RECENTLY somewhat regular crashes started only a few months ago. (for reference; i can just click the in-app reply button, and it crashes - it must be something in the "compose new message" code, or something...

Let's #rant about #YouTube #Content creators. Some/plenty of them are NOT PROPERLY disclosing #Advertisements! No, i'm not talking about checking a box in their YT creator studio interface - it's way WÖRSE! They're SNEAKING the ad into the narrative! 😱 ...you're sitting there, consuming their arguably interesting topic, and then, over about 10 WHOLE SECONDS, they're slowly transitioning to a sponsored ad segment! 🤬 THEY ARE ABUSING ME (violating...

WHOOHOO, about bloody time, hey?! 😉 I'm rocking over 42 days of uptime, here on my daily driver! 😱 👀 img alt txt #Uptime is measured in days of failure, these days! There's always something! (I'm well-aware that Manjaro is a curated slow-rolling distro - please roll it slightly quicker, though, once you figured your org structure out) ...just got the notification; 2.6G of #Manjaro #Linux updates - it's almost midnight German local time

#Twitch is AMAZING at detecting #frustration! Their #Algorithm just showed me an #Ad, right after getting banned for seemingly/reasonably benign reasons. just a little issue, that could've been figured out by competent mods Twitch continues to be a hostile platform, where reason doesn't seem to count 1 single bit. Biz as usual, i guess. ...why do i even bother; i have amazing DJ sets at home - i haven't found Gelbar DJ in Jeff's thing, yet ..their Synthwave Workout Mixes are...

One of my NVMe SSDs dropped out of several arrays, again. 👉 a Transcend MTE220S 256er As an IT guy myself, i've just rebooted the box. That made matters worse, because the dodgy SSD didn't enumerate (/dev/nvme*), and i was left with 3/4 SSDs, incorrectly enumerated. My #ZFS pools re-imported fine, albeit in a DEGRADED state. zpool replace is bullshit! 🤬 ..it NEVER wörks! I had to power-cycle the box, and zpool detach/remove, then add & resilver shit! SMART reports look fine! 🧵1...

Let's conduct a #Stalker2 2.0.5 (#UnrealEngine 5.5?) experiment. I've just started #Steam, after ~10 h, and immediately, i get a 3.4gig #Shader pre-cache update. And another 1.5gig on top. I'd bet, when i start the game, it's gonna compile shaders, regardless. We'll see; i'll start a stopwatch - twice, launching the game with pre-cache vs. self-compiled/hot cache. Edit: +2 pics, all right, if it's not a content update, you "lose" only ~40 seconds on #Vul...

Infinite diversity, in infinite combinations! This #StarTrek Vulcan proverb summarises what i want my #EU / #Europe to be/become. 🖖 We are very diverse, but we are driven by the European peace idea - like the Federation of Planets - we are stronger, together! Well, the authoritarian right-wingers of the #VonDerLeyen type keep fixing to undermine PROPER democratic procedure! Sneaking #ChatControl back in, at the last minute?! Also, FVCK Y0V - YOU were NOT elected for too-early vacations! 🤬

WHY THE FUCK is #Mozilla #Thunderbird #Email client crashing (noping out / crash to desktop), when i click the reply button?! 🤬 I'm using the specimen via the #Manjaro #Linux repo - today/CURRENT version. This is the 2nd time, it nope-crashed within ~2 weeks! (afaik, there's been 1 update) Can someone fix this, please?! EMAIL app NEED to be reliable!

I think, it's actually kinda funny that the #altRight #racist #OvertonWindow #Omarchy guy, DHH, collected 8(11?) million Vespuccistan bucks from several M|Billionairs, that will only BENEFIT our beloved virally licensed #FLOSS ecosystem. Even #Nazi money IS technically ALLOWED to use and contribute to #Linux and stuff, within the license - that's the actual deal. 😉 Sure, a few million bucks is a big deal - but it's not exactly a big deal - we all remain protected by our fave licenc...

Fascinating, that this 7th gen Intel box, a HP EliteDesk 800 G3 SFF still receives firmware updates! #Ubuntu and #fwupd is pretty neat. This one updates #SecureBoot stuff, which i'm not using on this box. This box will be replaced soon - i'm leaving this decision to "the next guy" ...let's see how well this box re-sells, without RAM. 😅

Fed up with unreliably enumerating devices on consumer/office grade platforms. I'm building a new #NAS for my #HomeLab. Ryzen 3 3100, Zen2 4c8t. Great multi-core perf boost, compared to my i5-7500. I get ECC capability, and an amazing upgrade path. I'll use one of those weird ASRock Rack B565D4-V1L ODM/OEM mobos, for 50 € on eBay. The x16 slot supports 4x4 bifurcation; ASRock Rack RB4M2 holds my NVMes. I'll keep the old 4x8 GB DDR4-2400 RAM, of course i will. 😅

Also, THIS nonsense! WHY EXACTLY is #Steam downloading a gigabyte of shader pre-caches, despite the established #BestPractice of NOT interrupting #Shader #Compilation upon #Game startup? #Stalker2 WILL recompile those, locally, most likely. The Steam client is technically aware, that i'm using the #CachyOS flavour, and the PROTON_FSR4_UPGRADE=1 launch option. (Because i'm not aware of #AMD #FSR4 #WMMA mode #UpScale #FrameGen support in Valve Proton Experimental branch.) #Valv...

The enemy of your enemy is NOT your friend! They're your ally, at best, unless you've actually been friends before! Also, the egg came 1st! Because the 1st ever animal, we humans would call a chicken, hatched out of an egg! My point; the problem isn't real, and we all should be friends.
