Over 75% of the world’s food crops need pollinators. Yet, bee populations have dropped globally over recent decades due to: 🔸 habitat loss 🔸 climate change 🔸 excessive use of pesticides Our fertiliser plan promotes healthier ecosystems, which are essential for bees’ survival. On this #WorldBeeDay, we urge governments, organisations and citizens to help save these precious creatures. We need to keep our bees busy and well!

The quietest cities aren't created by chance. They're designed that way. Beyond its long-term sustainability commitment, Zaragoza is tackling one of Europe's most overlooked environmental challenges: noise pollution. Instead of reacting to noise issues after they happen, the newly designated 2028 European Green Capital is building quieter neighbourhoods and green buffers right from the start. Our 2026 Employment and Social Outlook finds that job quality in the EU has improved over the past decade, with progress on pay, security and working time. It also finds that gaps remain across EU countries, sectors and occupations. We will present a Quality Jobs Act later this year. More: https://link.europa.eu/G3rdrr

Last year, 266 million people were pushed to the brink of acute hunger. 🌾 The EU puts roughly a third of its humanitarian budget into fighting it. 🌾 We work with local partners in the places that need it most, from Gaza to Afghanistan. 🌾 In 2025, that meant over €622 million in life-saving food aid. Our work continues.

Under EU digital law, Booking.com must properly assess and address risks linked to fraudulent listings and phishing scams. It must also clearly label listings that have paid for a higher position in search results. Booking a holiday should be exciting, not risky. Europeans deserve to book with confidence, knowing platforms are taking their safety seriously. We’ll make sure they live up to their responsibilities. 🔗 More: https://link.europa.eu/md8rtp

One emergency. Several countries. One communication system. 🇪🇺 We are proposing the European Critical Communication System, a common solution for first responders acting in cross-border situations. First responders from different EU countries will be able to share voice, video, data and location in real time, securely and seamlessly under the same system. When disaster strikes, borders must not be a barrier for emergency teams. 🚒🚑🚓 Read more: https://link.europa.eu/8Hq39t

Did you know that there is no universal sign language? In the EU, sign languages are as diverse as spoken ones – varying across countries, ages, and social groups. Through our Strategy for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities 2021–2030, we’re committed to leading by example: making our events and content more accessible. Everyone deserves to have a right to freedom of expression, receive and share information, and take part in society on an equal basis. #InternationalDayofSignLanguages
