@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu I’m a strong supporter of women’s rigths – for women self but also as it helps society as whole. I also think it’s pretty cool that the Commission, Parliament, the ECB and the EIB are all led by women currently (regardless of how I may feel about them as individuals, it is significant). Yet, this statement felt weird. Not wrong, but weird. One reason being that Parliament voted for maternity leave for its female MEPs just a few months ago which felt as an error to me. Not the maternity leave which is obviously great, but rather the exclusion of paternity leave and more generally parental leave. It fails to recognise many family structures and identities but also assumes the primary role of a woman is that of a mother by explicitly acknowledging motherhood but not the parenthood of others. The whole SOTEU also lacked in its acknowledgement of minority groups who are left behind again and again, just tepidly acknowledged or may get a lot of beautiful words but no meaningful action. Groups who remain severely under-represented within the EU bodies. The statement in and of itself is great, obviously. But within the larger context it doesn’t sit quite well for me.

  • @EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu Maybe, just maybe, you want to consider to stop selling ammunition to armies that use them to kill women then?

  • @EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu Do you want to protect minors and, even better, all EU citizens from the dangers of social networks, artificial intelligence, all addictions, old and new? Do you want free citizens in the EU? Forget the access prohibitions, they are a dead letter and will not work. Limit the infinite freedom of action granted to the technological giants. And promote the **critical spirit** in ALL educational systems, at all stages, in all countries.

  • @EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu And then you create obligatory age checks so that kids cannot use the Internet. But that creates a database about everyone. So all women are now listed in a not really well protected database. Perfect target for the fascist future to grab and misuse. Have fun with your future!

@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu What about palestinian women rights not to be bombed/starved by the terrorist state of Israel, with the support of the EU?

@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu Nothing wrong with this. Equal rights, equal responsibilities. Where are the missing SMS and other messages? Why is there no investigation for these incidents? How comes that Ursula is still in the same Position after several serious incidents? What happend to the massive "Consultant" fees racked up by this person?

@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu children also have the right to be raised by their own mother and not by the state. So spare us from your #feminism doctrine. We are not believing any of your words. We know very well that your only goal is two #taxPayer per household.

@the_alsatian@mastodon.social @EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu I didn't make a point. I asked what yours was. How women dress is a matter for women. I wouldn't have thought UvL needs advice on the matter from a man.
