Hello! I’m Rachel and I’m Vegan! Because I’m against exploitation and because I love animals! I’m queer, neurodivergent, and work in tech. I have an account on @rachel@tech.lgbt but want to make more vegan connections too. Here’s a green goddess gnocchi I made for dinner with broccoli, butter beans, and tomatoes. #introduction #vegan #veganfood

Working working working today with our teen helper. Sorting out what I hope is 8 boxes of goods to drive to donation today. And meantime, 3 good things: 1. So glad 2 years ago I started using a stovetop percolator! About 4 times a week, no matter how bad or difficult things can be, I sure enjoy my fresh, rich coffee. 2. Drew got his leg splint off! He’s gotten his broken bone grown back in place fine. Just very weak and we must baby it a while. 3. Did I mention I’m going through a lot of cl...

This is our #introduction post We are The Shifting Apparatus, a queer and disabled apparatus (our term for plural system or group). We have recently migrated from #blahajZone because their mods (patricularly Jorunn and Ada) on matrix are negligent and have hurt us by not paying attention to how users have been treating our requests for our needs (content warnings and proper pronouns, and what language we should be addressed as). We knew Jorunn personally, and had some connection to Ada 1/?

The IT company Mullvad's founder Daniel Berntsson is behind a huge donation to the populist Örebro Party, which advocates ”extensive return from Sweden. ”It's sad that it needs”, he tells Flamman. One of my recurring projects as a pagan for the past year or so has been taking a Tarot deck, choosing a deity I want to establish a working relationship with, and then using that deck to check in with them in daily readings. I draw 3 cards a day and keep notes on which cards I've seen, and I'm done with that deck when every card has appeared at least once (takes ~4-6 months). At the moment, I'm working with the Morrígan, and her primary message to me has been, essential...

As of today, I'm back to writing on Substack. This post is on the value of animism and reconnection with nature as antidotes to the central problems of the modern world. I feel pretty good about how it came out, and hopefully this is the start of a more sustainable rhythm of writing these essays again after I totally burned myself out on it last year. https://chickendruid.substack.com/p/returning-to-animism-in-times-of #animism #collapse

Today I delivered my first Fiverr order. It was a sample line edit for someone I'm hopeful will also hire me to edit their full manuscript. Honestly, this came a lot sooner than I expected to; I was prepared to get zero work on Fiverr for months while I built up a reputation through other avenues, but the first order came within less than three weeks of the gigs launching. Hopeful that that's a good sign of what's to come!
