One of my recurring projects as a pagan for the past year or so has been taking a Tarot deck, choosing a deity I want to establish a working relationship with, and then using that deck to check in with them in daily readings. I draw 3 cards a day and keep notes on which cards I've seen, and I'm done with that deck when every card has appeared at least once (takes ~4-6 months). At the moment, I'm working with the Morrígan, and her primary message to me has been, essentially, "Do it scared." The funny part of this though is that she routinely sends me the most dramatic, portentous cards in the deck. I've drawn The Tower six times in as many weeks. 3 of Swords and 5 of Pentacles have made regular appearances. At first I would get nervous, wondering if she was warning me of some life-altering disaster about to befall me, but I've found if I can see past the surface-level bad associations of the card, there's always a more coherent and more relevant message for me in there (and the disaster I fear never comes). My best understanding of this is that the Great Queen is basically doing exposure therapy on me via Tarot.
