Trump’s threat to ban diesel exports exposed how easily more fuel could be poured on the fossilflation fire caused by the war on Iran, and that fire is hurting households around the globe. If governments switched to decentralised renewable energy and clean transport, people wouldn’t have to deal with so much of this s**t #trump #iran #diesel #transport #war #peace #renewables #transport

Oil spills from war are spreading towards coral reefs and mangroves in the Strait of Hormuz. Fossil fuel dependence puts people, nature and economies in harm’s way. To prevent future harm, we must end that dependence and build a future powered by clean, decentralised renewables. https://www.dw.com/en/iran-war-oil-slicks-environmental-catastrophe-tankers-hit-by-missiles-protected-ecosystems/a-79327092 #iran #hormuz #war #peace #oilspills #fossilfuels #renewables #renewableenergy

As if our oceans aren't already facing record heat, plastic waste, and industrial exploitation… now governments and arms dealers want to turn the seabed into the next battlefield. The ocean is a living ecosystem that sustains all life, not a playground for war and corporate profit. https://www.cnbc.com/2026/09/19/underwater-war-sea-drones-defense-tech.html #oceans #war #military #protecttheoceans #peace #marinelife

I heard something that really made me think on the Liberation Conversations podcast by @robinince@mastodon.social . Holly McNish said that war is paid for. People are employed to take part, people invest in it, and in the industry of war. No one gets paid to spread love. I think that is truly profound, especially when all wars aim at ending in peace. Why not just start with peace and invest in that? Is it that war and conflict us just too profitable fir the few? I will likely speak about this at my Quaker meeting tomorrow, as it frames reality so simply. Thank you Holly, and Robin too! #quakers #peacehttps://mastodon.social/@robinince/117326762989273478

The Iran war is driving clean energy development. It's not enough to help the planet, yet

Countries are embracing clean power and taking steps to use less energy because of the war against Iran. But it is not yet enough to help address climate change.
