DYK? 🐢 40% of marine animals caught globally is unintended bycatch, including hundreds of thousands of turtles and seabirds. 🧴An estimated 171 trillion plastic particles float on the ocean surface. 🐟 Around 90% of global fish stocks are fully- or overexploited. 🪸 Now the corporations want to start mining the seafloor. We can stop the destruction before it starts. 🦈 Humans kill ca. 11,000 sharks every hour. #ProtectTheOceans >> https://act.gp/40mc7vH

🚨 OCEAN HEAT: Last year, our seas absorbed heat equal to almost 40 TIMES all energy humanity used. With 84% of global coral reefs struck by bleaching-level heat stress, fossil fuel corporations and industrial meat and dairy are cooking our living ocean for profit. Protect our oceans NOW. #oceans #marinelife #heat #extremeheat #climatechange #climatecrisis #climate #protecttheoceans

As if our oceans aren't already facing record heat, plastic waste, and industrial exploitation… now governments and arms dealers want to turn the seabed into the next battlefield. The ocean is a living ecosystem that sustains all life, not a playground for war and corporate profit. https://www.cnbc.com/2026/09/19/underwater-war-sea-drones-defense-tech.html #oceans #war #military #protecttheoceans #peace #marinelife

At a recent event, Trump was given a gold replica of a deep sea nodule that American Ocean Minerals – a billion-dollar company – hopes to mine from the Pacific seabed. Just to be clear, the polymetallic nodules aren’t actually made of gold. But a deep sea mining gold rush for minerals would cause untold damage to ecosystems that humans do not even fully understand. https://act.gp/3DPi0Kr #StopDeepSeaMining #ProtectTheOceans 📸 Craig Hudson (@chudsonphoto)

We have a chance to turn the tide. If world leaders act swiftly, they can protect at least 30% of the ocean by 2030 — giving marine life space to recover, helping stabilise our climate, safeguarding the livelihoods of billions of people, and securing a thriving planet for generations to come. #ProtectTheOceans >> https://act.gp/40mc7vH
