💔 I don't know what hurts more... Is it poverty? Is it living under siege? Or is it being forced to ask for help every single day? Perhaps the cruelest part is being a little girl carrying burdens that even adults struggle to bear. 🎒 While other children think about school and play, I wake up wondering how I can find food for my family. While others dream about their future, I spend my days trying to support my mother and father as they suffer, doing everything I can to help my family survive one more day. 🆘 Every day, I write another plea. I open my heart and share a piece of our pain, hoping my words reach someone who can ease this burden. I know many people see my posts. I know our story reaches others. Yet the days keep passing, and we are still waiting. 😔 The hardest part isn't asking for help. The hardest part is having to ask again and again while my family's needs cannot wait. Hunger doesn't wait. Medicine doesn't wait. Survival doesn't wait. 🕊️ I never chose to carry responsibilities meant for adults. 💔 They say there is a ceasefire. They say the fighting has stopped. For us, those words do not match reality. Perhaps some people choose to believe them to ease their conscience or to justify their silence. But here, death has never taken a break. Not during the day. Not at night. Not in the streets. Not inside tents. Not inside homes. Not even during funerals. Every day brings new massacres, new victims, and new grieving families. 🚨🥺 Tonight, I was on my way home from a private lesson. I was thinking about nothing more than getting back safely. Then, in an instant, everything changed. A deafening explosion shattered the night. The ground shook beneath my feet, and a nearby apartment disappeared into a massive cloud of dust and smoke. I froze. I couldn't move. My heart pounded so hard I thought it would burst. Then I started crying. 💔😭 There is no safe place. Only fear. Only the sound of people screaming. Mothers calling for their children. Children crying in terror. Neighbors running toward the smoke, desperate to find someone they loved. The air itself felt heavy with panic. ❤️‍🩹 Minutes later, the ambulances arrived. There was little left to save. Six people had been killed. Just minutes earlier, they had been sitting together around their dinner table, sharing an ordinary evening, never imagining it would be their last. Their home, the place where they should have been safest, became the place where their lives ended. 💔 This is what life in Gaza feels like. You leave home without knowing whether you will return. That morning looked like so many mornings of war… a heavy sky, exhausted faces, and children carrying stories far bigger than their age. 💔 I returned to an UNRWA summer camp, searching for a small piece of the life we lost among the ruins. I was looking for the school that once held our laughter, our dreams, and my two dear friends — Yaqeen and Qamar. 🕊️ They were more than friends. They were my childhood. We sat together in class, shared our little secrets, laughed at simple things, and wrote dreams in our notebooks that we believed would grow with us. 📚✨ I entered the camp carrying a heart full of longing. I searched between the seats, waiting to hear their laughter, waiting to see their smiles again… But they were not there. Only two empty chairs remained. Two silent witnesses to a childhood interrupted, to dreams that were never given the chance to bloom. 💔 Outside the camp stood a lonely tent among the destruction. I looked at it and felt the weight of history — a reminder of the stories of the Palestinian Nakba, of families who lost their homes and carried their memories in their hearts. We never imagined that another generation would know this same pain. 🏚️🍉 War does not only destroy buildings. It takes away the small details that make life beautiful: school mornings, friends’ laughter, notebooks filled with dreams, and the people who were supposed to walk beside us into the future. My name is Layan. I am 16 years old. At my age, I should be worrying about school, dreaming about my future, and laughing with my friends over little things. Instead, war chose a different life for me. I became the one caring for my sick parents, supporting my family, and helping look after my 8-year-old brother. Every time we are forced to flee, I feel like I grow ten years older overnight. Displacement is not just leaving your home—it is leaving a part of your soul behind. You have only minutes to gather your life, knowing you may never see your home again... or even find it standing when you return. 🏚️💔 The cruelest part is that we have to pay money just to escape. We pay to be uprooted from the place we loved, only to arrive somewhere with no real shelter, no clean water, no food, and no safety. 🥀 I pretend to be strong so my parents won't lose hope. I smile for my little brother so he won't see the fear in my eyes. But when everyone is asleep, I cry quietly, because beneath all these responsibilities, I am still just a 16-year-old girl. 🥹💔 We have lived through this over and over again. Every time I whispered, "Maybe this will be the last displacement." But another order would come, another tent, another goodbye, another piece of our lives left behind. Today, we are confined to less than 30% of Gaza. We don't know where the next displacement will take us—or if there will be anywhere left to run. 📍🍉 I am not asking for a perfect life. I just want the chance every child deserves: to go to school, to know my parents are safe, to let my little brother have a childhood instead of learning evacuation routes. 🎒💔 This isn't a travel bag. It's my displacement bag. Every night, I place it beside my bed before I close my eyes. Not because I'm planning a journey, but because I never know if I'll wake up to another evacuation order or another night of bombing. Inside are a few clothes, our documents, and the last pieces of a life we've struggled to hold on to. Every member of my family has a bag like this. In Gaza, being ready to lose your home at any moment has become part of daily life. We are exhausted. We cannot keep living with this constant fear, this endless anxiety, this feeling that every minute could be the moment we lose everything again. No human being should have to live this way. This bag carries more than belongings. It carries our fear, our uncertainty, and the weight of surviving day after day. Please, don't let our suffering become invisible. Don't leave us alone. It's just a tad disingenuous to automatically classify all these attacks as "antisemitic" during years when The Jewish State™ is COMMITTING A #GENOCIDE while the nations of the world mostly sit back in silence (when theyre not actively serving as #GenocidesBodyguards). SOME people are likely frustrated enough by that to feel like they have to do SOMETHING, striking the most related targets that are within reach. Make no mistake, these attacks are all still #terrorism. They're all still murder. They're all still crimes against God's law AND man's, especially since it's logically fallacious to hold THE WORLD'S JEWS accountable for the actions of #IsraelAtWarCrimes--just as it would be to indiscriminately murder AMERICAN noncombatants for the #CrimesAgainstHumanity of the Trump Administration. But it seems AT LEAST as likely that MOST of these attacks are motivated by the hatred OF GENOCIDE that--in theory--WE'RE ALL SUPPOSED TO SHARE, rather than hatred OF JEWS, which is what antisemitism is SUPPOSED TO be about. Yes, we will probably find a few cases OF NAZIS getting in on the act, too, to try to exploit the cause of #JusticeForPalestine to whitewash their antisemitism. Just as we might find A FEW who are agents of the #FauxlamicRepublic of Iran trying to exploit it to garner sympathy for their terrorist attacks on Western targets as part of the war. But those are (1) likely to be a minority, and (2) are different conversations altogether when they arise.

I have observed that on Mastodon, there is an endless flow of comments concerning fascists. However, the same vigour does not take place over the genocide of Palestine. Is it a tradition hangup in western society, where the focus is on fascists, right-wing, left-wing, communists, democracy but not on the endless extermination of a nation? The European Left Alliance has just now launched an ECI: A European Citizen's Initiative to demand #JusticeForPalestine. It's similar to a petition, and legally binding if the goal of 1.000.000 signatures is reached. The EU has to act if we share this enough! We demand a full suspension of the EU-Israel Association Agreement, which is the cornerstone of EU-Israel bilateral trade, economic, and political cooperation. 🚩 https://eci.ec.europa.eu/055/public/ We don't need words.
