The De-google-ify Internet project offers 26 ethical and alternative online tools that may be used by everyone.

They build open source alternatives to many Google services like Youtube, Agenda, Docs, Forms, Maps etc, as well other services to replace Doodle, Facebook Event, Github, Zoom, Slack and much more!

This New Open-Source Alternative to Google Docs and Notion Is Backed by France and Germany

Docs is an web-based collaborative text editor that is the result of a joint effort led by the French 🇫🇷🥖 (DINUM) and German 🇩🇪🥨 governments (ZenDiS).

It's a good alternative to popular services like Notion, Google Docs and Outline.

The platform offers real-time collaboration capabilities, a sleek minimalist interface, and all the essential features you could possibly need.

Best of all, Docs is open-source on GitHub and can be self-hosted, making it a viable option for local agencies and companies.

We like the work being done by @FallenWalnut@lemmy.world. They compile information regarding European and Canadian alternatives, as many do now (like us), but they also generate visually appealing graphics (not like us! 😅) that differentiate services using labels depending on the people's preferences, such as privacy, environmental considerations, profit share, nationality, and so on. This is a lot of work!

And they seem to be receptive to feedback, so if you have a differing opinion on a labeling matter or find new information about a company or open source solution, you can leave them a comment. 🙂
