Google przegrało sprawę antymonopolową dotyczącą Androida. Musi zapłacić 4,1 mld euro grzywny Trybunał Sprawiedliwości Unii Europejskiej odrzucił apelację w sprawie jednej z najdłużej prowadzonych spraw antymonopolowych przeciwko Google’owi, w ramach której Komisja Europejska nałożyła karę w wysokości najpierw 4,3 mld euro (ok. 18,4 mld złotych), obniżoną później do 4,1 mld euro (ok. 17,6 mld złotych). Kara ta została nałożona w wyniku stwierdzonych przez Komisję Europejską działań ze […] https://kontrabanda.net/r/google-android-sprawa-antymonopolowa-grzywna/ #kontrabanda #informacje #android #google #komisja_europejska #postępowania_antymonopolowe

"Emma* (not her real name) thought she’d finally found a way out. Late one night, while her partner was asleep, she spent twenty minutes searching for a family lawyer and reading through a domestic abuse support website, careful to close the tabs afterwards. Two days later, her partner brought it up. He knew which website she’d visited and exactly when. Emma had been careful to only ever use her own device, and she hadn’t noticed any new apps appear on her phone. What she didn’t know was that weeks earlier, during a few unattended minutes with her phone, he had opened the Chrome app and quietly signed it into a Google account of his own. From that moment on, every site she visited was being copied straight to his account, viewable from any device, anywhere in the world. Certo has received a growing number of reports describing exactly this scenario. Our research team investigated, and what we found is a strikingly simple technique that requires no hacking skill, no malware, and no spyware app of any kind — just a few unattended minutes with someone’s phone and a feature that Google built for convenience." https://www.certosoftware.com/insights/cyberstalkers-exploiting-chrome-sync-to-spy/ #CyberStalking #CyberSecurity #Surveillance #Google #Chrome

#Finland orders halt to work on two #Google #datacentres by Florence Freeman, October 6, 2026 Excerpt: "Finnish authorities have ordered a halt to building work at two planned Google data centres amid concerns over the clearance of more than 300 hectares of #forest. "The sites form part of Google's record €13bn (£11bn; $15bn) investment in Finland, announced less than a month ago and described by the company as its largest single investment in Europe. The Finnish Supervisory Agency ( #LVV ) said work at one site was carried out without a mandatory #EnvironmentalImpactAssessment and ordered measures that would 'significantly alter the environment' to be suspended by 23 October. "Google said it had 'fallen short of our own high standards in this instance' and would follow the agency's guidance. The orders relate to preparatory work carried out at the planned data centre sites in #Muhos and #Kajaani. "According to LVV's head of environment Tommi Muilu, work at the sites included the removal of trees and topsoil, the construction of site roads and storage areas, and changes to ditches. #TuikeFinland, the company behind Google's data centre projects, has been asked to provide an explanation and set out how it intends to proceed by 14 October. The agency said it could begin 'enforcement proceedings' if the company failed to comply with its demand. "Hanna Halmeenpaa, chair of the Finnish Association for #NatureConservation, had previously told the AFP news agency that ' #NatureSites which should be preserved' had been felled. The conservation group had previously called for work to be halted while the environmental requirements were examined." New post: Google still can't make an accessibility menu accessible. Put more than one service on Android's accessibility shortcut and holding the volume keys brings up a menu with no speech, at the exact moment no screen reader is running. Apple and Microsoft solved this years ago. I fixed it in ten minutes at one in the morning. Google has had years. https://fireborn.mataroa.blog/blog/google-still-cant-make-an-accessibility-menu-accessible/ #Accessibility #A11y #Android #TalkBack #Blind #ScreenReader #Google
