mastodon 4.7.3My name is Alfonso Acosta Gutiérrez. I live in Mexico City where I work as an illustrator, web designer and digital media consultant.
When I'm not working or sleeping, I'm usually running long distances, enjoying good food and drink, or pampering my cat Parsley.
Toots in English, castellano, un peu de français, und ein bisschen Schlechtes Deutsch 😉
There is no bad art, just art that needs a little practice ;-)
Hi, #FediFriends. Just a quick hello to let everybody know I’m still alive and haven’t jumped into any volcanos (at least not recently). Just a bit over my head between work and our full house remodeling.
So, to recap, I’m not dead or MIA, just running short on time and energy, but still here, still alive, and still (kinda) kicking.
Miss you all an hope to be back as soon as life allows it.

Today while taking apart my closet I remembered how my uncle used these thingies to play car races with me and how he drew a different pilot for each to make it more fun. I saved one and made this for G. 🏎️

Yep, sometimes life feels exactly like juggling eggs while trying to walk on jellies. All you can you do is keep calm and carry on.
Marcel knows the path, but will always be the odd one out.
He knows the destination, but will get there his own way.
He knows many, many songs, but prefers to let the wind sing.
This is what comes to mind whenever I go to the courthouse. Being forced to clumsily surf the treacherous waters of bureaucracy the best I can.
Special mention to @DarkSheepArts@mastoart.social for kinda obliquely encouraging me to draw this. :blobfoxfingerguns:

P-zero-zero-H (Winnie to his friends) really doesn’t want any trouble. He gave up on honey a long time ago, honest.
A special request from G for her birthday, a drawing of her favorite of my OC’s as her colleague (G is an architect).

After countless battles and so many scars, Jimbo has finally realized being a “sacred temple guard” was not quite the right career choice. He is wondering if his cousin can still get him that gig as a nightclub bouncer to help finance his studies and finally get his PhD in philosophy.

Some people think Binky is a weird pet choice for someone like Olaf, but he doesn’t care. They make each other happy and that is all that matters.
Today I had breakfast with my oldest (pun intended) friends, and one of them, who’s a 3D printing nerd, gave me the most awesome belated birthday present ever.
🖖🏻 :littleg: 🤘🏻
She knew.
No path.
No destination.
No songs.
Just here.
Just now.
After many years dreaming (and forever postponing) our flat remodeling, G and I finally decided to bite the bullet and go for it. I’ve been in a bit of a creative rut lately, so G tease-challenged me to document this adventure. Here’s the first part, from planning to noticing the clock is ticking and we have to pack our whole life in a week and a half before work can begin. Hope you enjoy it. 😅

Unlike his siblings, Eugene’s biorhythm could never really adjust to the “night owl” schedule. On the plus side, having to rely on extra help to stay awake had turned him into an absolute coffee connoisseur. ☕️ :littleg:

Nobody said shading and volume practice shouldn’t be fun.
Billy really loved working at the music store, it was the closest he could get to his dream of becoming a professional musician. Unfortunately, “just testing it out for a client” was not really working as an excuse with his manager anymore.

¡Buenos días, Mastodontes!
Hiroshi was built to be silent, fast, and deadly. But he left all that behind to pursue his dream of becoming a mariachi.

A pesar de su rancia alcurnia, doña Pema, ilustre condesa de Huayamilpas, duquesa de Pátzcuaro, dama de la orden del hueso de pollo y protectora del jardín trasero, es una devota y dedicada practicante de la meditación zen.
Well, I did promise @Kitty@mastoart.social I’d think about drawing this. So I did.
Here is a very sketchy rendering of how Hiroshi, the former ninja robot, got his guitar and was finally able to pursue his dream of becoming a mariachi. 😉

Our home remodeling saga, chapter 2
Having to pack your whole life:
Pros- That feeling of accomplishment when everything is finally neatly packed and properly stored.
Cons- Realizing the ridiculously huge amount of useless junk and other assorted trash you have been dutifully collecting throughout your entire life, sudden panicked dashes to catch the garbage truck, tiredness, and a sudden increase in caffeine consumption.

The four year old space nerd inside my head is jumping up and down while it runs around screaming “Wooooooooooooo!” at the top of its lungs. 🤩
A little treat after a busy day. Who knew packing a whole house was such an intense workout? Good night, #FediFriends!
Question for you, #FediCollectiveMind. Can you recommend a good print-on-demand alternative to RedBubble/Threadless that:
1- Is not US based or US dependent.
2- Delivers worldwide with reasonable prices.
3- Won’t take 99% of the sales price as commission.
4- Can use something other than PayPal for payment processing and artist payment.
Bonus points if it’s México and Latin America friendly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Bon appétit, Mastonautes! 🍺😋🍝
:blobfoxthink:
