@david_chisnall@infosec.exchange I'm curious what you all have in mind when we talk about "a strong no-LLMs policy". Personally, I picture a stance against any use of LLMs on ethical grounds, whereas NetBSD and other projects only talk about restricting code that's generated without human involvement. There's nothing about using LLMs to dig into bugs and vulnerabilities, or about people rewriting LLM generated code and passing it off as their own.
Now more than ever, it feels like sending patches is going to become a question of trust between committers 🤔

Believe it or not, evidence suggests that the AI problem has its deepest roots in the same demographic that thought curl | sh was a deployment strategy and copy-pasting code into production was a form of testing 🤔

If the "black box" doesn't care what language you throw at it, Rust is already overengineering it. Just use Assembly and experience the problem in its purest form 😆

If Mullvad VPN AB really endorses the Örebro Party's view that "Sweden belongs to the Swedes," then I assume they'll stop accepting money from the rest of the world's "parasites" and offer their services only in Sweden.

This is not the first time I've had to warn someone against using articles like this one https://www.freebsdsoftware.org/blog/nextcloud-freebsd-setup.html or anything from this site at all.
Sure, they include a "Not affiliated with The FreeBSD Project" disclaimer, but I would love to have a way to warn new users.

Recently, I've noticed that many people who publicly share their first impressions of FreeBSD consistently highlight two things: the documentation and the community.
So, thank you to everyone who helps make this community a better place, and in particular to those who devote their time and effort to improving the project's documentation.

After ~5.000 years of recorded history, it seems that humanity still hasn't learned to recognize its own limitations when making decisions with profound consequences for future generations: coal, oil, nuclear energy, plastics, so-called artificial intelligence ... and pineapple on pizza.
