I cannot rest until some "big" accounts, publicatons, groups et al tag #NHAMFest26 or link https://fest.nham.co.uk , or quote or boost some posts about this distributed online festival streaming parade of talented artists, makers and communicators. Many speak a lot about wanting more positivity, human art, discovery and community building in the feed and world. Well HERE it is and here we are. Lend a voice so we don't lose ours. Support indie artists doing things on platforms of more agency!

oh ahoy there team. Hope your week is approaching tolerable. Couple of things.

Get ready to rise and reverberate.

The universe hasn't taken out the hamster just yet. Plus the hammocks at the hospital are rubbish so it's that time of year we organise and gather to do a thing for maximum community power. iykyk

Keep an eye or ear here as we surface for a bit to stir the good vibes.

Can't # just yet. Hold please...

Evergreen reminder to drop a kind word to an indie artist. Stay vertical.

Reaching out for any creative humans to fill the last few time blocks for the #NHAMFest26 stream parade marathon 27 August. If you stream on #owncast or #peertube (or might be inclined to for a rad event here in the neighbourhood), don't punch down, mod chat for the same, and present original art, media, info, entertainment, check out https://fest.nham.co.uk and join the party! #streaming #art #music #science #writing #live #concert #discussion #theatre #hangout #raid #fest #joinIn #nham #rff

Can you smell that? That is the delightful heat of spreadsheet cells filling quickly with the power of human creativity and community awesomeness!

Gretchen, start trying to make #NHAMFest26 happen.

Still a few slots remain. As is tradtion, there will be some community watch parties and hopefully a few panels as well.

Keen for a few more non-music events. Where are the streaming folks with something fun to share in the "wee hours" of UTC?

RE: https://mastodon.social/@RobertaFidora/117009649175709327 Mic check! We're presenting a fresh double episode Animation Array as a watch party during #NHAMFest26. More material is needed. Are you, or do you know a visual artist in the animator, illustrator, stop motion, puppeteer, mixed media and adjacent realms with weird, wild, wonderful short form video? Get the word out, have a look and submit some clips for a wicked fun community show. Tell friends and creative connections far and wide. ARRAY! https://animationarray.com #Animation #Fediart #boost

Just attented the release party for @CCirco@ravenation.club & co remix album with @nham and @TIBtv

This outstanding diverse collection came from posts on fedi and is emblematic of the immense human talent, camraderie and loving community here in the neighbourhood.

A strong counterpoint to the vapid, formulaic, derivative, slop, hate and insincerity dishearteningly dominating the corpo silos and popular discourse.

Quiet weekend feed thoughts from the sub-basement of the underground.

Do you really need to be the 700th boost of a possibly factual if derivative, repetitive or late to the party take/reporting to back slap a fedi affluencer?

Maybe be the first boost for an artist cousin to help them find their voice or to keep fighting.

Be the cumulative energy supporting independent creative humans not just talking head culture.

Worst case, ¿porque no los dos? We can filter.

Stay vertical. Art hard!

Ahoy team. There is a wee surge of slop jockeys having a go at harassing, polluting or infiltrating music circles.

The hamster was famously positive even when critical or advocating for our human artist cousins during our run but I am yelling from the hammock, slop shills can with offense, hop in a volcano.

Never a bad idea to set accounts to approve follows so such slugs can't ooze or siphon a single bit of proximity to the rad human artists in the neighbourhood.

Stay awesome out there.

Whether you get to relax or the weekend just means more work, hoping you can find a moment to achieve some level of comfy.

You might also take a moment to thank an artist you've loved something from. We all have the power to send a kind word.

What are some things we doing out there to foster organic interaction and going ever slightly out of our way or social patterns to find and support rad human artists?

This weekend take the RFF Hamster mouse challenge. Click through a new to you artist's media links and give em a chance.

Support artists in nicer places they are trying to be. It might require a click out of the doom scroll. You WILL find awesome. When you do, drop a kind word to help make more art happen.

Stream on #owncast or #peertube, moderate chat, maintain inclusive and comfy vibes, don't punch down, and have something original and consented to present? Let us assemble, glide and ride the fediwave. Music, visual art, dance, discussion, teaching, readings... This is a distributed event with no home channel. To not overwhelm ex-RFF or our friendly affiliates and successors, this year is BYO stream. We'll have a pop-up site that could host a few streams only IF we can align admin and mod. 2/

Whether the weekend means a chance to relax and unwind or more work and stress, hope you might find some enjoyment, solace or solidarity in art from you cousins, especially here in the digital neighbourhood.

As good as it is to focus on days that minimise corpo skimming, EVERDAY is the best day to support an indie artist! Material support if you have the means is awesome, but we all have the power to drop a kind word of thanks or encouragement. That is rocket fuel for the soul.

Stay vertical!

#askfedi are you a fedi "VIP" or do you have the ear or attention of such? Spare a tick to check out some of the amazing community driven independent artist online events as linked above and maybe help spread the word? There is so much talent in the digital neighbourhood and it is criminal there aren't thousands assembling in our own spaces of agency and safety to share the vibes of being together, enjoying and supporting art from rad humans. It is a nourishing respite from the "the feed". 🐹

If you have platform exhaustion browsing, spare a thought for your artist cousins constantly wrestling trying 800 disparate platforms for overwhelmingly unrealised "discoverability". You might follow an artist "here" but how readily do you exit the feed?

Do you click when artists post links in fedi posts to self-determined or more fair locations that do not autoplay?

Have we lost the window for a fedi that could love indie artists more than affluencers?
