especially as a trans person (and a trans person who can't/doesn't always make the greatest effort to be femme), i'm always wary around self-proclaimed allies (and to some extent queer-inclusive spaces run by cishet folks). some people support trans people in theory a lot more than they do in practice.

one thing i'm pretty sure is a compulsion is apologizing often and unnecessarily. but i never understood when i might be doing something wrong because of the autism!! so i overcorrected HARD, until i felt like i had to apologize over every little thing. it's gotten a little better (and this is a relatively tame example) but i super get what you mean!

i've noticed a severe lack of Dazey and the Scouts on the fediverse, which is criminal because the band's singular album literally (figuratively) rewired my brain chemistry!!
Maggot is an album about being a teenager. it's sardonic and silly and upbeat and melancholic, it's young and it's queer and it's angry and it's horny. it feels like a cult classic but it came out in 2017. i will never be normal about this band.
have been obsessed with Tamar-kali's Geechee Goddess Hardcore Warrior Soul EP as of late!!
her voice is so fucking powerful and i just love the sound of these tracks in general. trying to get more into punk and riot grrrl lately and i love love love this.

along the same vein:
instagram is horrible for my moral OCD (and fears about the world in general). these days i only use it for very little, mostly friends and local music, but one thing i do love about it is that you can set a song as your status for the day AND choose the clip of the song that plays!! it was a much more subtle way of said infodump (but there will be more infodumps. hoo boy there WILL be more)

how do you stop a #rumination in the moment? i have been getting them a lot lately and it fucking sucks. is there a better strategy out there than "ride it out?"

oh that's awesome that you had native dubs of pokemon!! i didn't get around to watching the original series until later, but the XY(Z) series was pivotal for me growing up
