So, normally I don't like to point to specific survey instruments because the problems are endemic across the discipline.

But this one is problematic to the point that someone needs to reach out to this student and help them understand human subject research ethics.

I am not on reddit but if you are on the state library association they are expecting to speak at next month or at whatever SLIS program they are in and can reach out to help kindly educate, please do.

I use Tusky on my phone to access Mastodon and that has a multi-user option.

I.... set up whatever Tweetdeck-like appearance I have going on in my browser for my primary glammr.us account. I honestly have no memory of doing this.

Does anyone know how I turn this into a multi account because I need to track 3 accounts now.

It took 2 hours in the Extreme Air Conditioning in my library but I'm finally cold.

Chicago is thickly humid and the outside of the building windows are foggy with condensation.

The building inside is still humid--even with the AC. So I'm not sure if I should put on my office jacket or if I should just go outside for 7 seconds.

"All responses will be confidential and no personal identifying information or IP addresses will be collected"

Let's see if we agree. The recruitment email tells us that there will be 10 demographic questions, so I already have an eyebrow raised in advance.

How many years as librarian (range)
How many years at current job (range)
Tenure Track / Rank

Then at the end of the survey additionally:
Gender
Race
Hispanic y/n
Carnegie Classification

(Also not Dean and yes academic lib)

New editorial from Rebecca and me!

We looked at whether libraries were giving their faculty credit in P&T norms for evidence synthesis. Most are silent on the topic.

This is labor intensive interdisciplinary scholarship that needs to be recognized, documented, and rewarded -- while also recognizing that librarians need space to do / lead their own scholarship.

They surveyed about Librarian participation in IRB and only ask about literature review?

I serve on my biomedical IRB and it has little to do with the lit review -- it's about my expertise related to data management and where data is being shared, repository usage, etc. More recently I'm the data/AI re-identification Cassandra.

This is an extremely narrow and disappointing view by the author of how librarians actually contribute to IRBs
