@stux@mstdn.social Also paint the bottom a darker color so that it can retain more heat.

Well this is sad news to me. On June 22, CHU -- the Canadian shortwave radio time signal broadcast -- will cease operation. I discovered CHU as a kid when I first started listening to shortwave radio many, many years ago. It's always been there.
It's the end of an era.

@tinoeberl@mastodon.online I'm 79. 60+ is another odd grouping. What do I have in common with a 60 year-old person who hasn't even reached retirement age yet?

@tinoeberl@mastodon.online Or put it this way, a lot of people in their 60s have living parents. The 60+ category puts the children and their parents in the same age group.

@vitex@f.cz It would be great if you had to pass this captcha in order to get to an online lesson about resister color codes.

@QueenOfTheCroneAge If a piece of paper currency with his name or picture were to become torn into two pieces you could scotch tape them together and spend it. But that particular note will then be removed from circulation as unfit. Just sayin'.
Huh, "unfit" seems an especially apt term in this case!

@dfx I remember installing Windows 95 from floppies and that was bad enough. I don't think I ever did a floppy install for Windows 98.
Spectrum Internet is down. They emailed an alert saying that it's due to storms and that I should hear from them again by 9am on the 21st! Two days! I do admire the specificity of the 9am part of the message though!
My Verizon LTE backup is working but kinda slow.

@MagentaRocks@mastodon.coffee Are you in the US? If so then F1TV is included in Apple TV's coverage. If you have Apple TV then link your F1TV account and watch F1 on the F1TV app or the Apple TV app, your choice. I think there are ads on the Apple app but none on the F1TV app. No extra charge for F1TV.
My new passport has arrived. No, it does not have Trump's picture!
I renewed it online on Apr 16 and they said it should arrive around Jun 2, so I received it a month earlier than expected.
With my cancer and mobility issues, I think my days of international travel are behind me. If I didn't already have a passport I don't think I would apply for one. But since I had one, I thought it would be a shame to let it expire.
@deviledeggpress@mastodon.social Good. I'd like to read your book when it's available.
@deviledeggpress@mastodon.social George Morrow, wow that's a name I haven't heard in a long time! And yes I remember his appearances on Computer Chronicles. I watched that show every week.
