I just published a new essay: »The Interface is Content«.

In the essay, I argue that the user interface cannot be separated from the content. (And I make a fun analogy to typography!)

I just published a new essay: »Writing and Walking«

The essay is about the importance of writing – but it also contains a reference to my favourite hiking spot in the world.

10 years ago, Marian Dörk (@nrchtct@vis.social) and I founded the @uclab_potsdam@vis.social. We are celebrating with a radical and wonderful re-design of our website - designed by @jonaspelzer@mastodon.social.

Thanks for the great and inspiring collaboration – on to the next 10 years!

Study »Speculative Software« in Potsdam!

This fall, we are launching a new Design MA programme – taught in English.

The Master Studio Speculative Software is dedicated to the design and exploration of creative, experimental software user interfaces. It is part of a full-time two-year Master programme.

My TEDx talk »The Art of Speculative Software« just went online!

I discuss screen time, mathematics, and fictional design landscapes – but most importantly I call for more creativity, curiosity, and imagination in software design!
