Thinking about adding proportional numbers to my monospace font for maximum confusion
Just had an enlightenment about CSS View transitions. They are much more powerful than I thought AND much easier to use!
You really only have to give your element a unique view-transition-name. This has to be consistent across all pages the element appears on. That’s it!
Built a fun detail into the new https://jaccobunt.com portfolio site: the navigation animates from a collage layout on the homepage to a clean top bar on subpages, using CSS view transitions.

My favorite part is the view transition between home and other pages
Observation: Some of the briefings I get sent for potential design/dev projects became much more extensive and detailed in the last 1–2 years, often including adjacent tasks that are not typically part of my service offering, and loads of nice-to-haves. I think this is AI influence.
If I quote according to all the demands in these briefings, the quote gets unrealistically high quickly. As a result, more communication work is needed nowadays to get to a realistic agreement for both sides.

This is harder than you might think! But it’s a lot of fun.
In case you missed it: I designed and developed the new website for UCLAB, which we launched last week to celebrate the lab’s 10th anniversary.

@tombinroth Yeah, it seems to be another one of those situations where AI creates more (unpaid) work instead of reducing it

@Chrtz Don’t know if increased or decreased, but what I can say for sure is that no one is willing to pay for the scope of the initial brief. So there’s lots of adjustments necessary, and oftentimes collaboration already fails before this point.
slideFrame in action for “ICF – Inclusion and Collaboration for the Future”, a collaborative project by Universität Erfurt and Hochschule Nordhausen offering an interactive digital platform to learn the WHO ICF framework.
Shoutout to my friend @Chrtz@mastodon.social, who adapted slideFrame’s functionality to also power internal content for this project. Great work! 👏
