@Daojoan@mastodon.social I still think about the story a colleague (younger than me, so no boomer!) shared on Facebook about a six year old girl supposedly a survivor of Sandy Hook, running the Boston Marathon who was killed in the bombing at the Marathon. Like, you don't even need to fact check that, dude. How could a six year old be running a marathon you have to be 18 to enter? And finishing with adults? And running a marathon at all when she's SIX?! Just use your brain for like ten seconds! Gah!

Ugh, it's very gloomy and rainy this morning. Plan today, work this morning, get out later for a walk, and to lift some weights. But if it's still raining I'll have to just walk on a treadmill at the gym.

@hellomiakoda@pdx.social I used to be too precious about stuff, and gradually got better about it, and finally clearing my dad's house after his death fully cured me of the tendency. He was a bit of a hoarder, and a saver of things "for best." One thing I recall most is I threw out numerous bottles of fancy olive oil that had never been used and had gone rancid. So nobody ever got to enjoy it. It just sat in a cupboard until it went bad. That's just sad.
New Writing Month total, 14,890. The draft itself is 47,682. I've been on a bit of an every other day writing schedule on this draft for a few days, because other stuff keeps coming up. But I'm on target for where I need to be, so we're cool.
Things have just kicked off in the story, with the appearance of a woman who is definitely totally 100% an Italian psychic medium, honest, guys. She's not in any way at all a scammer who can fake an accent and is good at cold reading.

No investigation. They might luck into some scally with a garage full of stolen bikes when arresting him for something else, but that seems to be about it.

The only social media I use now is Mastodon, and a wee dabble in Reddit, but just specific subreddits that are pretty well moderated. I use YouTube, but they'll have been proactively taking it down, and I curate my recs pretty strictly there, so wouldn't expect to see it randomly.

It showed two thieves turn a bike horizontal over the top of the rack and turn it until the lock broke open, because the tube and the rack were stronger than the lock itself, so that gave out first. 😬

People absolutely rinsed him, saying things like if he'd like, their little sister and her friends could meet him so he wouldn't feel so frightened in the big scary city. 😨
