@wizardponderingorb@mastodon.world Ah I see, yeah I'm a little confused too, KDE is seemingly run akin to anarchy (as per their own words), which would be fine but it sucks for moments like these where a democratic vote and a central entity that decides the rules and such.
At least in the kde mail link from their initial post people do seem anti-slop, so that's a good thing, but when will KDE as a whole vote on their AI use policy? At least Debian did, even though their voting system is overly complex and mind-boggingly hard to understand at a glance which is what caused the 'centrist' outcome.
"motivation" and "excitement" can only do so much, you can't rely on a project to be fully completed if you only work on the stuff you like. Sometimes you also have to shovel shit or do boring, menial, un-exciting work.
