We truly live in the thickest era of human evolution. You can forgive the ignorance of our ancestors because they had limited access to knowledge, but now the sheer volume of verified learning at our fingertips is unprecedented. Being so ignorant is a wilful act of self-defeating spite.
The Goodies were a treat for kids in the 70s. Like Python for toddlers. For some reason, when I was 6, I thought that Oddie & Brooke-Taylor were also in The Beach Boys and that Graeme Garden was a school teacher appointed to look after them.

Last night's stupid dream: I was fleeing from a furious, violent rock star after his show was broadcast live to millions. Pre-show, he'd told me his cool plan to open by shouting "I am a sphinx!" As a prank, I told him that sphinx is the feminine form, so he should use the masculine form: sphincter.
The Odyssey has only been out a day and I'm already bored of the 'ackshually, people in ancient Greece were white with blonde hair' wankers.
I fully suspect that the source of their information is a picture tea towel their grandmothers bought as a souvenir on a coach holiday in Corfu in 1979.

When I first heard these albums as a kid, Bremen, Lausanne, & Köln seemed so far-flung & exotic. I'd no idea I'd end up living in Germany, Switzerland & a few other exotic, far-flung places. Of course, when you live there, they lose their exoticism (as if your very presence ruins them!)
