I guess I should do an introduction, since I'm new on this server. I'm not new on Mastodon, though; I've been here since 2020. So...who am I? First off, I'm an older bibliophile in a huge way. I started reading at around the age of two, and I loved old books from the start. I never stopped reading and collecting books; the genres I love most are science fiction, fantasy, mysteries, children's books, YA, and humor–but I read other things too. Since most of the books I cherish are all but forgotten nowadays, I've taken to posting a new book recommendation every day here, under the hashtag QuasitBookRecs. I plan to post those recommendations here on hear-me.social, because my recommendations tend to exceed the post length limits for other servers. I'm always happy to discuss or recommend books! What else? I'm a divorced single father of an adult son who's also a bookworm and geek (and a redhead; people call him my mini-me, although I'm bald now). I've been a tabletop roleplayer and gamemaster for over 40 years now. I have a huge book collection. I build my own bookcases. I'm anticapitalist and anti-fascist. I make political posts, but I plan to try to confine them to my other active account: @Quasit@beige.party . I love to cook comfort food, and friends say I'm really good at it. I make my own recipes sometimes, and I post them occasionally. I'm a supertaster (that's a real thing), which might help with cooking. Although I'm the last of the Boomers, I've been an early adopter of tech ever since college. I was on the internet all the way back in the mid-1980s. I miss those days! Anything else?
