Right? I’m constantly amazed how many foreigners are aware of what’s going on in US politics and even details about how our government works. It shows how much our shitty politics affect the world. I’m sorry. It highlights how bad Americans are at paying attention and doing their homework because most Americans have no fucking clue what’s going on or how their own government works. To be fair, I’m barely aware of what’s going on in other nation’s politics, but that’s largely because I’m hyper aware of what’s going on in U.S. politics and, unfortunately, that takes up a lot of my time and patience and sanity.

IT professional here with 20+ years work experience. Not once have I ever met another tech that liked Apple. Personally, I despise them. Unintuitive locked down garbage that can't do anything a PC can't do for half the price. And yes, I have seen viruses on Macs. Meme aside, I'm absolutely voting blue no matter who because

1. Literal fascists are in control of our federal government.

2. There is no viable 3rd party. No 3rd party is seriously trying to be viable. And American citizens aren't taking 3rd parties seriously by voting for them in local/state elections. So there is absolutely no chance of a 3rd party accomplishing anything in the near or even remote future.

I'm not sure if anyone remembers, but none of this crazy shit was happening before January 2025. I'm voting to go back in that direction.

To be clear, I'm totally onboard with reforming the Democrat party by primarying out the bad actors. That's way, way more likely than making a 3rd party viable in the short amount of time we have left before we aren't a democracy anymore.

I'm entirely capable of circumventing Reddit bans and I'm probably on my 50th+ account by now. I spend most of my time here, but I still have a Reddit account for various reasons. If they finally nuke old.reddit I will at long last peace out for good and never look back. Every time I log in I expect it'll be gone. Reddit excels at making awful decisions regarding their platform.

IT professional here. Yup. Everything is hardwired with multiple layers of security. Everything even remotely personal is on encrypted hard drives. No Alexa/Google. Made sure the smart TV and smartphones (no Apple, vanilla Android) have all data sharing disabled. And I drive a 1999 vehicle that doesn't make me jump through any hoops. There's a fine line between technology making things better and making things worse. We're definitely starting to drift into the making things worse era.

As an American I can confirm we are absolute trash right now and we're sealing our fate for at least a generation. People the world over are going to spend the rest of their lives at the very least having a bad taste in their mouth when America is brought up. Like, there really isn't a debate here. Trump was absolutely a worse decision than Kamala. So not voting for Kamala when it came down to Trump and Kamala means your brain thinks Trump was a better option. Because it was one or the other...period.
