21 years ago today, Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans. Its aftermath did more to shatter my youthful innocence about the world than 9/11. That's just a fact.
I don't know why I took notice of the date today, and not on the 20th anniversary last year. But today, it's on my mind.
I'm willing to put up with a lot that's less than ideal about the #WPBL at this stage out of a desire to support the concept, and I understand that aluminum bats and 7 inning games aligns with existing international women's league standards, but I think it's a terrible look for a women's pro league in 2026 to play for less time than the men's league. The WPHL doesn't play shorter games than the NHL. That makes no sense to me. #baseball
