LOL. My employer is sponsoring a “networking event” (free dinner & booze) the night before a local “basically all sales pitches “security conference”” soon. I’m just telling a bunch of friends to attend, in spite of being horribly wrong and not even remotely a candidate to buy our product. Hey, the salesfolk said they had plenty of free space for the event! Good thing the registration link isn’t tracked.

Oh Claude… Connect an MCP Server, request <data>. "I can't do that because of a server-side guard. I won't attempt <method two> either to get around it, because it is a deliberate access control, and reaching the same data by another door would be circumventing it rather than satisfying it." Okay, quit Claude, restart Claude in a new session, ask "Get <data> via <method two>." &quo...

*SIGH* Hey, Sales Engineer, if you're going to use AI to give a first pass on the technical issue you're having with a customer - maybe *TRY THE 'SUGGESTED REMEDIATION' AND GATHER THEN 'ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REQUESTED'* before submitting the ticket to engineering...

Gotta love it when a coworker sends me a link to a Slack thread "FYI" - and it's a thread _I'VE BEEN ACTIVELY PARTICIPATING IN._

Silly nerd pride thing: I had the Wikipedia entry for an element open. I wanted to go to a different specific element. I scrolled up to the little clickable "periodic table with no labels" in the infobox, went "it should be somewhere about….. there." and clicked. Got it right. Note: I don't know the periodic table well enough to have known for sure. I just intuited and clicked. And no, it wasn't an obvious one like H or a noble gas.

Oh boy… "Special Juror Summons" - "Term of Service: 2-5 weeks" 😱 Going to the court website, it appears to be a specific trial, "expected to [last 18 days]" Hrm, time to do some digging to figure out which trial it is so I can come pre-biased. I have no qualms about performing jury duty. But 2-5 weeks, with 3 weeks fully expected?

Our chief marketing officer: “Thrilled to be on the B2B CMO 100 list by the B2B CMO Project…” Yeah, we definitely paid to be on that list - our CMO has only been in the role a month. We had no CMO before that.

Salesperson "I just spoke with Dennis who has <account type 1> and <account type 2> but can only see the <account type 2>, could you please help him get connected to his <account type 1>?" No last name. ***NO CLIENT NAME***. No, I can't help Dennis get connected to his <account type 1> account, because I have no idea who you're talking about. Salesperson didn't reply to my request...

WTF, Apple Photos? My 1080p/30fps iPhone-recorded video in HEVC is 41.3 MB. That's too big for the forum I'm trying to post to, so I use Photos' "Export" function, and choose 720p. This produces a 51.2 MB file? Okay, it' using H.264 instead of HEVC. But 480p is plenty fine for what I need, so let's just export as 480p instead… 51.3 MB…. o.O

Oh boy. Got a recruiter reach out about a role at an AI startup I've never heard of. "Moreover, AI is how you work, not a tool you reach for occasionally. You've rebuilt a meaningful part of your workflow around it, and going back to the pre-AI way of doing things would feel like working with one hand tied behind your back. You'd refuse to." Looking at their website, they have dozens of customer testimonials. All but one are from other AI startups I&am...
