had one too many power failures and now my Mac Mini (2014) running Debian is like dead-dead, won't even boot into Linux recovery shell Fortunately I had the foresight to put the most important data it was hosting onto an external disk, which just barely survived an NTFS fsck from a Windows VM on my laptop. Unfortunately, in this market, I don't think I'm getting another "4 cores 32GB RAM" machine for a reasonable price any time soon... here's hoping the bootloader can...

as mentioned earlier, power loss caused a drive failure on an internal ext4 drive of one of my homeservers. what saved my ass was: storing all* persistent data on an external driverunning all my services from docker-compose files as defined inside a git repo* except a factorio server install which is now the SECOND i have lost lmaooooo :blobfoxmeltsob: :blobfoxmeltsob:

my friend: hey do u want this Aritzia skirt? it's too long for me me: hell yeah! *time passes* me: this is probably the greatest skirt i own. i should probably get another girls, if ur already familiar w/ Artizia, u know how this story goes. these things are like spun gold with how rare they are. Aritzia changes their lineup seasonally so i could not buy another new even if i wanted. plus like they only make a few things that are slip (elastic waistband)

Roku's House of Oddities: while it is a fairly funny gag manga (only been getting better tbh), it's absolutely ending after a short run; i just dont see how they can extend the premise that much without it becoming stale Drawn to the Fire: Finally, a promising sports manga!!! Its characters are more immediately likeable than Harukaze Mound, and having multiple characters means the romance subplot won't become too much a focus like in Martial Master Asumi or Two on Ice. Seems like it...

"300ms clean builds 100ms dirty builds" my ass did NOT comprehend how long fetching things from the internet takes (like 20ms per file), and also how long it takes to save/load 60MB from disk (like 100ms each way on my drive), and also how bad "tokio::sync::Mutex with a bunch of waiters" could be (extremely). Going fast is not normally a thing I have to think about too hard with #rust but when I want to go this fast, with this much data, from a cold start, I guess I have to...

Apple Music has gone from "bad looking" to "bad at playing music, just in general" for me. idk what exactly is causing it but, after a couple hours of listening, it starts to stutter real bad, like every 0.5-0.1s bad, which is just unlistenable. It's either that app or MacOS because quit + restart the app fixes the issue. Too bad their library is so huge...
