I had some very lovely people team for me at the Castle Hever Triathlon Series on Saturday. Cancer and MS aside, even on the energy sapping drugs I managed to finish. I'm very grateful to my old team as I was utterly wasted by the end but also those coming out to make sure I don't drown, crash or trip in Barcelona later in October. Stage 4, whatever for now. I'll be napping for a few days.

@TheDerelict Thanks but I'm just making a feeble attempt to pretend there is any meaning to any of this. At ex once described my social media habit as "screaming into the void". Pretty much it x

Decided to go for a bob and a float with the Liverpool jellyfish this morning. Not quite but almost a #lifeisbetteratthelake and definitely a moment of zen in the water #silentsunday

I said goodbye to my favourite running shoes. Ultralight, surprisingly protective whilst they had bounce but it's time to let them loose. I think I first wore them at Whitley Bay #parkrun. It's been a different year with failing health but with many opportunities to celebrate. I had pre-booked three triathlons before I got my stage 4 #cancer diagnosis. Me and my running shoes have had a blast at Oxfordshire, Castle Hever and, yesterday Barcelona ๐๐ด๐ I turned my ankle so hobbled...

A beautiful morning at the lake and my first kilometre circuit since last year. The place was packed with loads of newbies signing up because #lifeisbetteratthelake

#eurostar was better in the Waterloo days. Or maybe the false construct of Brexit makes Kings Cross passport control more stupid than it was.

I'm pushing my luck a little but with a compressed lifespan what the hell. Last minute trip to the Netherlands for an extra parkrun. Basically 24 hours and done and the equivalent of ยฃ27 a minute for the actual #parkrun at Kagerzoom. Hats off to the joyous crowd and the local tennis club that did fine coffee and Heineken Zero on tap. ๐

My book choice to read in the garden as we head for the longest day. I love this time of year. Reading by natural light is a fucking joy. I'm a slow reader, this will take me to the 21st June. #simple #booksofmastodon

An odd #parkrun day. Went to celebrate an event's 500th and was one of only three people that were at the inaugural run in 2014. Added poignancy - I checked my time from 2014; cancerous, immune suppressed, fucked ankle 2026 edition me is faster ๐คท
