@edbott@mastodon.social Interesting results. I left Twitter soon after Musk took over. My "bubble" was still good, but that was before he started the "For You" algorithm. I still decided to leave because I just couldn't support anything owned/operated by Musk. The only rare times I feel any loss on leaving Twitter is when there is breaking news that I'm trying to get some info on. I hope as Mastodon grows it can start fulfilling that same role.

@edbott@mastodon.social that end sentiment, hoping elon will be forced to get rid of twitter, is partly why I haven’t deleted my 12 year old account. But it’s locked and the only tweets I left on it were pointing to mastodon.

@edbott@mastodon.social This story is worthwhile reading on the subject, methinks. https://www.esquire.com/entertainment/books/a42638589/book-twitter-end/

@edbott@mastodon.social I'm still on Twitter, and will be until the end of the NHL playoffs. I will really miss hockey Twitter, and do hope that some of the community comes over here, but I doubt it will. However, I do find Mastodon to be more of an egalitarian experience, much less celebrity-centric, and I'm investing time going through the federated feed daily, trying to build a new network of diverse voices.

@edbott@mastodon.social My #Twitter account is kinda like my vintage equipment. It’s there, I occasionally boot it up sometimes, see if it works then shut it back down. Haven’t really engaged on it in a while.
