🧵 2/n I'll keep this #Stalker2 thread going for a while, until i've understood how this wörks.
So, i've just exited the game, after a 3-ish hours session. As soon as #Steam CloudSync finished, i've got another 1.3gig update. This one appears to be an actual content update, because it doesn't state anything about shaders.
I'll keep timing the start of updated codebases.
Pic2: Lap 1 = Vulcan processing took 37s, and 1:53 minutes in total.

🧵 3/n #Stalker2 is getting out of hand! 4 GB of shader pre-cache downloads is too great of a burden on my meager 60mbps downstream cap! I've got plenty of CPU cycles, to compile those locally, but i don't have sufficient patience for slow internet. I'm choosing the local processing trade-off; 8 dual-threaded Zen4 cores at 100% load are the lesser inconvenience, in my personal bandwidth-constrained use case. I'm opting out of #Steam #Shader pre-cache downloads; Settings → Downloads → toggle.
