@alice@lgbtqia.space I think Devon got most of the samples on their soundboard - we could ask them? which episode is it (I am so behind on them ...)

@alice@lgbtqia.space might be from something called ‘Perversion for profit’ which you can probably find on youtube

@alice@lgbtqia.space Jurassic 5 - or more specifically, Cut Chemist who was one of their two turntablists - frequently used vinyl-based packs with bizarre retro-style dialogue custom-waxed for beatmaking. American 1950s educational reels in a transatlantic/mid-Western accent were a particular favourite. Before J5, Eric B who created those expansive soundscapes for the legendary Rakim, also loved using these eccentric samples, which sound bonkers out-of-context. 😆 I would bet that this from such old records.

@alice@lgbtqia.space For those who are interested, "S3E5.5: Audition" contains the "She's transsexual" drop, multiple times. I got a nice clean copy of it at 05:15, and there appear to be other instances at 25:34, 33:01, and 49:11. It also appears in "S2E20: Return of the Man From U.N.C.L.E.: The Fifteen Years Later Affair" at 68:37, and "KJB Holiday Special 2: Die Hard 2" at 04:48. Those samples aren't quite as clean, though. You know, just in case you needed to know that. 😁 (And to answer the obvious question: I just set Whisper, a local transcription model, to grinding through a bunch of audio files, that's how. At least I was paying my own energy bill for it. I'm not proud, but also that's a lot of audio to go through.)
