As a Canadian-British dual citizen, I am begging #Albertans to take my word for this.
The same forces who brainwashed so many people into voting for Brexit are drooling at the prospect of #Alberta voting for separation.
This is what they do: it's called divide and conquer. And while you might have many legitimate reasons to feel agrieved, isolation doesn't solve your problems. It exacerbates them greatly.
Brexit diminished the UK beyond imagining.

@Remittancegirl@mstdn.social It is absolutely a play for weakening government power in Alberta. It's people who want to pay less for the oil, pollute more while extracting it, and contribute less to hospitals, schools, and roads.

@Remittancegirl@mstdn.social as a Brit living in Britain That's a hard yes. It was so divisive. I don't think anyone feels like they got what they voted for, but many feel they got what they voted against.
