Anyone have over-ear wireless headphones recommendations for a tighter budget? I had a nice pair of Bose headphones for almost 10 years. Replacement was near but I left them out in the rain. Replacement is now! Would love something closer to 100 or 150 US dollars, if possible, but I use them daily for music, so sound quality's really important. Lighter weight is also better. Share recs from experience please. Thanks, and feel free to boost! #Music #Headphones #AskFedi

    @NearerAndFarther@bookstodon.com I've got a pair of Sennheisers that has lasted me a good ten years and I really love them - they're lightweight too. I wear them at work pretty much all day (and they're comfortable enough to wear even when I'm not listening to anything). My partner has a pair of HiFiMan and while I like the sound, I find them way too heavy to wear for more than a few minutes at a time. They're a bit pricier too

    @NearerAndFarther@bookstodon.com I've been pretty happy with my Soundcore wireless headphones. I forget which model I got but they are really comfy and work well.

    @NearerAndFarther@bookstodon.com Sennheiser offers some wireless headphone models in your price range. I find thrm to be great. Some audio shops will let you try them out. https://www.sennheiser-hearing.com/headphones/wireless-headphones/

  • @NearerAndFarther@bookstodon.com a slightly different route: get an iFi Go Blu with Koss PortaPro or KSC75. Koss is known to have very good bang for buck at the budget tier

  • @NearerAndFarther@bookstodon.com My son and I both have a set of Skullcandy Hesh ANCs as our daily drivers (heh) and the only bad thing I can say is that they can be a little tight on a big head. For comparison, I came off a broken set of Bose QuietComforts and consider the Hesh at least as good in most areas and better in others, especially battery life. Also, the LED on them is super inoffensive. I have another brand where I had to dab the LED with liquid electrical tape, so this matters to me.

  • @NearerAndFarther@bookstodon.com Soundcore has quite a few good options. Sound is great, noise cancellation works well and they are affordable. Husband paid about 80 euro for his Anker Space One Headphones and is very happy with them.

    @NearerAndFarther@bookstodon.com here's a weird one for ya: https://ploopy.co/shop/headphones-full-kit/ build your own headphones! nothing can go wrong when you build your own headphones i ran the numbers through some online currency converters, and $200 CAD is somewhere between $138 and $142 USD i have no idea if they're any good or not, i just thought it was a cool idea but yeah other than that, if you can find some Sennheisers for $150 that'd be my other rec, those always sound great

    @NearerAndFarther@bookstodon.com I've had a couple of Steel Series "gaming" headsets that I rate for their comfort (the older models were better, but the new ones are still OK). I have a fat head, so the earcups and headband matter to me. Their model pricings vary wildly, but they have budget models (which is what I have). Sound quality is "good" for me (I'm no audiophile, so I can't qualify further).

    @NearerAndFarther@bookstodon.com do your old bose still work? If so, depending on damage, you can get decent and cheap replacement cushions

    @NearerAndFarther@bookstodon.com I’ve had some Jabra Revo Bluetooth headphones which I bought for around £80 over ten years ago and still have good sound and battery life. Not sure how much they cost now.

    @NearerAndFarther@bookstodon.com Audio-technica. Best bang for buck .

  • @NearerAndFarther@bookstodon.com I recommend against the new Bose ones. Low quality foam popped out a year and a half in. Sound is fine but just bad quality. I swear by anything Audio Technica though.

    @NearerAndFarther@bookstodon.com I've been happy with Sennheiser products, but couldn't recommend a particular model.
