@nixCraft@mastodon.social I had the same question as did someone else about the utility of Pi-Hole for addressing these trackers. Also, I wonder if Privacy Badger is able to block any of these?

@nixCraft@mastodon.social Where are these ads you speak of? I see none. #PrivacyBadger #uBlockorigin

@nixCraft@mastodon.social Is there a way to prevent this with a Pi-hole?

@nixCraft@mastodon.social Yet another reason to use strict ad and tracker blocking everywhere.

@nixCraft@mastodon.social at the network level you could just block the domain bzr.openai.com and openai.com so even if the cookie is put on your system by another site, it should break it from actually working.

@nixCraft@mastodon.social So don't have a fucking ChatGPT account.

@nixCraft@mastodon.social It is not just ChatGPT - I received an ad distributed by safeopt.com in an email to an address I use *only* as a maintainer for some open-source software I wrote. I set up a Debian repository for testing on github and that should be the *only* place anyone can find it - unless they can buy it from Google. The ad matched a search another person had just done using a different computer at home, so with an ISP's router using NAT, the IP addresses were the same.

@nixCraft@mastodon.social Why doesn't the FCC grow some and put a stop to the multiple invasions of our privacy?
