Happy Donut Day to me.
Donut Day is my personal holiday of walking away from Christianity. (Named because of the Donut Man’s roll in my childhood indoctrination)
It feels odd to celebrate what felt like dying, but I survived. It was more of a whimper than a bang, more desperation than bravery, more utter bewilderment than choice. For so long I believed that my world would end if I left, and it didn’t. I’m so happy to have left.
