#3goodthings #ThreeGoodThings 1) Friend’s show at #MothBellyGallery nearly sold out. 2) Neuro PA says MIL will be cleared to drive at the end of the month, 30 days after hospital discharge. Whether driving is a good idea then is a matter of opinion, but it is a sign of how recovery is going! 3) Assorted mushrooms from the #FarmersMarket sautéed & added on top of a mushroom chowder for dinner.

Today was #TomatoDay at our local #farmersmarket! I picked up a collection of heirloom varieties to do a #tomato tasting board... Clockwise from top: White Queen Early Girl Yellow beefsteak Chinese sugar tomato Black Beauty Red beefsteak Copia (center) It is Too Damn Hot for complicated cooking, so we picked up some sushi-grade tuna at the market fishmonger and just did a quick sesame-seared tuna to go with our tomato bounty. (And some balsamic vinegar & shaved parmigiano to go on the tomatoes, once we'd done our comparison tasting!) The red and orange beefsteak were the most vivid tomato flavor. Copia was milder, white queen also mild and a little sweet. I think the black beauty was my favorite - it was somehow more rich along with the acidity...

It's a fun culinary weekend! Last night, we made Syracuse salt potatoes with our cod and veggies, this morning we had fresh blackberry syrup made last night in the Zojirushi bread maker, and tonight it will be a Lebanese cucumber salad with yogurt, garlic, and mint, and for dessert, fresh peaches over vanilla ice cream. Potatoes, black berries, peaches, and cucumbers are all thanks to the Saturday morning farmer's market! #Food #FarmersMarket

@kimlockhartga@beige.party I know that many people shop there because of lower prices and greater availability, but you can count on #Walmart to incorporate all of the worst and most predatory practices. It's a good time to explore alternatives for food shopping and medications. I'm really appreciating my neighbourhood #FarmersMarket for fresh and locally grown fruit and vegetables, as well as some grains and legumes.
