The domed corner of an early 1900s commercial building on the corner of Trongate and Albion Street in Glasgow. Designed by Thomson and Sandilands, it was built for the City Improvement Trust. #glasgow #trongate #architecture #architecturephotography

This is a rather gorgeous red sandstone Glasgow Style tenement the corner of Govan Road and Shaw Street in Glasgow. It was designed by Frank Burnet and Boston, and was built in 1900. #glasgow #architecture #tenement #glasgowstyle #glasgowtenement #govan #architecturephotography

The former National Bank of Scotland building on the corner of Trongate and Glassford Street in Glasgow. Built in 1903, it was designed by Thomas P. Marwick in a Renaissance style. #glasgow #architecture #trongate #architecturephotography

I recently posted a shot of the huge and imposing marble staircase from the City Chambers in Glasgow, but it's only one of the amazing bits of interior decoration in the building. This is another: the 100 foot long Faience Corridor, where every inch of its walls and domed ceilings are adorned with glazed decorative ceramic tiles. #glasgow #design #ceramics #architecture #architecturephotography

One of the staircases in the City Chambers in Glasgow. Designed by William Young and built in the 1880s, its lavish internal decorations have to be seen to be believed. Luckily, they run regular tours so you can take a peek inside. #glasgow #architecture #architecturephotography #glasgowcitychambers

I post pictures of this wonderfully expressive crouching Atlantid way too often, but since he's been supporting his building for over 125 years without complaining, I feel he deserves all the credit I can give him! Carved by George Frampton, it's on J.J. Burnet's 1890s Banking Hall on Ingram Street in Glasgow. #glasgow #sculpture #architecture #architecturephotography #ingramstreet

Allegorical figures of Speed and Science flanking the entrance to the North British Locomotive Company building in Springburn, Glasgow. They were sculpted by Albert Hemstock Hodge in 1909. #glasgow #springburn #sculpture #architecturephotography #architecture

Good morning, Glasgow from the 1901 Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in the West End of the city. Growing up here, you kind of take such buildings for granted, and its often only as you get older and travel to other places that you realise not everywhere has buildings like this. #glasgow #goodmorning #architecture #architecturephotography #kelvingroveartgallery

Love this stained glass on 63 Bath Street in Glasgow. One of the best things about life in this city is coming across such random bits of beauty as you travel around it. You just have to keep you eyes open so you see it as you pass. #glasgow #architecture #architecturephotography #stainedglass

Looking down on the glorious Charing Cross Mansions in Glasgow from a nearby pedestrian bridge. Designed by J.J. Burnet in an early French Renaissance style and constructed in 1891, this building always looks especially good on a sunny evening. #glasgow #architecture #tenement #charingcross #architecturephotography

Love the cupolas on the dormer windows of the uppermost corner level of James Thomson's Classical style 1902 commercial building on Sauchiehall Street in central Glasgow. #glasgow #architecture #architecturephotography #sauchiehallstreet

The 1860s Arlington Place on Woodlands Road in Glasgow. This was once part of a much larger building which extended all the way down Arlington Street on the left to Grant Street. #glasgow #woodlands #architecture #architecturephotography #tenement

James Thomson's wonderfully over-the-top Free Classical style Edwardian commercial building on the corner of Sauchiehall Street and Cambridge Street in central Glasgow. From the ground looking up, it doesn't appear too unusual, but when you see it from the top down, you can see all the intricate details on the uppermost floors. #glasgow #architecture #architecturephotography #sauchiehallstreet
