"Israeli leaders still overtly affirm their genocidal intentions to “finish the job so that we can also implement the migration plan,” as defense minister Israel Katz said on 16 September. If the violence and deprivation that preceded 7 October created the conditions for resistance, there is little reason to assume that subjecting another generation to even greater destruction will produce a different result. The significance of 7 October, therefore, is not that it illustrates what the next escalation might look like, but rather the futility of assuming that Palestinian resistance can be contained, defeated or permanently deterred through military force. Repeated violence does not erase grievances. It can deepen them. What may come next might not look exactly like 7 October, but undoubtedly Israel is creating new generations with powerful reasons and motivations to resist. Throughout the genocide, some Palestinians have expressed the desire for revenge. In December 2023, after losing his mother and sisters, a boy pulled from the rubble, his face covered in blood and dust, told a journalist that one day they would film him as he was “stepping on the necks” of Israeli soldiers." https://electronicintifada.net/content/why-palestinians-will-continue-resist/51682 #analysis #politics #PalestinianResistance #resistance #IsraelWarCrimes #IsraelTerroristState #israel #Palestine #Gaza #7thOctober #october7th #violence #gazagenocide #FreePalestine @palestine@a.gup.pe @palestine@fedibird.com
