That episode was so dark and bonkers. My favorite of his.

Kagi is $10 a month for the decent (not weirdly limited) plan. That's a hell of an expensive coffee.

Just giving you shit, though I have always hated the "cup of coffee" comparison as I think people buying those expensive coffees out all the time are being foolish. Coffee at home is much better and much cheaper IMO.

I have that book on my bookshelf. It didn't make me cry nearly as much as some C++ books.

Yep, that episode. He died like 100 billions times or something insane. The 12th Doctor had a level of stubbornness that I aspire to lmao.

I honestly don't know! With the rapid inflation and price gouging, I feel like I'm a character on Arrested Development trying to guess prices of common items.

Everyone moved to libera. It literally happened right as the freenode fiasco happened, so I am surprised you and your group didn't hear about it.

I'd say it is more accurate to say that the typical dev dreams about it ending as a farmer. I only know of a single guy that made it happen, proud of him though!

We'll all just stand very still in the dark and hope a maid walks in first I guess.

Just throwing out that Matrix isn't particularly complicated to host, BUT I don't think it is a 1:1 replacement for Discord. Discord is honestly a bit odd in some ways, which was probably on purpose as it made them standout and be harder to replace.

Hard disagree, but there are millions of people using it so what do I know.

Not me, I’d totally suck at it. I am leaning towards becoming a gardener specializing in super hot peppers.

Yeah, I agree with that one. That was actually the first one that caught my eye for the same reason. Something about login with a potato is just hilarious to me for some reason.

It varies based on what I have on hand and how much time I want to spend.
bready part: croissant > bagel > english muffin > bread
eggy part: scrambled egg with diced onion and sweet bell pepper (red/orange/yellow, not shitty green pepper)
cheesy part: sharp cheddar > pepper jack > less cheddar > swiss > american cheese
meaty part: bacon > sausage > ham

I work with some companies still running code from the late 90s, so I know this feel. It IS scary and I can only tell them to stop so much.

Yeah, the lack of distractions is the man draw I believe (also the qwerty keyboard on it is pretty nice), but it had rough edges that prevent me from recommending it. I had a feeling it would be like that since it is the first and only phone that company had made, but hope springs eternal.

In my experience, mexican restaurants don’t have particularly spicy sauces available. They can prepare food quite spicy, but they almost never have good sauces. The local Mexican place I go too has the most basic of sauces so I just bring my own because their food is excellent, it just needs more spice.

Applets were killed before that due to repeated severe security issues and Sun fucking around and not making them good in my recollection. Flash was just easiest applets with no Java and died for much of the same reason a decade later.

Yeah, Daiya is terrible. My wife and one of my kids can;t eat dairy. Violife seems to be one of the better shredded !cheeses, but only when melted.

They definitely taste different, hence me calling the green peppers “shitty” :)
I find that they taste particularly vile, and growing up that was the only pepper ever used in our meals so I thought that I hated all peppers. Nope, just green bell peppers.

I haven’t seen any. My wife has a Minimal Phone, which is android, but heavily nerfed in what it can actually run. I can’t recommend it though until they fix the connectivity issues. It frequently has problems with wifi and bluetooth, also poor general cellular signal.

nah, though I can see why it might make sense if you’re using a bagel. I feel like it would just make the sandwich content slip out of the middle.

Also, you can’t compress the entirety of “the internet” into a 20-200GB model.
You clearly can, LLMs are just an extremely lossy method of compression. It does make one wonder at what point does a highly compressed version of an original work no longer qualify. If we compressed a licensed image enough that it was a blur that vaguely resembled the original, does that still count?

It’s probably for the best, I predict I’d either drink too much or complain that they only buy crappy beer :)

I was told in school that Java applets were the future and they made us take a class that focused heavily on them. I did make a few games in applets, but they were always janky and I am glad they are dead.
