My house theme this spooky season is escaping dragons

Dolly Parton is the best of us. Of course her music is an unparalleled gift, but I don’t know if many know about her Imagination Library. As a children’s court judge I get many cases involving kids in all manner of vulnerable situations. I would sign up all the children to Imagination Library. Dolly sent each child an age-appropriate book every month, and all those kids continue to get a new book, every month. Sometimes these kids are moving around between shelters or relatives and all they have are some clothes, and these books. We always make sure the books go with them. It is hard to put into words the gift of the world coming in every month for these kids. That’s what Dolly Parton chose to do (quietly) with her wealth. She will be deeply missed, but her mark on the world will live on.

May your skies be unreal, friends. With Earl.

The moon never looks but a fraction as amazing as it is irl in a photo but stilll.

May you walk in the magic light, friends

We love you Minnesota. I wish I could travel back in time and tell a distressed 14-year-old me that I would live to see a resistance movement of 55 year old women spontaneously singing the Purple Rain album and pastors on the street in the same non-violence drilled by MLK in -11 weather. "That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it's worth fighting for."

Eeeee a la verga

I hope you had a good journey today, friends.

It’s apricot season in Santa Fe. Mine are few (relatively) in number, but huge and SO GOOD warm from the sun. I’m trying to make apricot curd for the first time. Wish me luck or at least good learning

Find your peace today, friends

I'm GenX. Last time I felt like this, all nuclear dread and Iran and an ego-driven, mentally-failing president, at least we had punk music.

May you find the magic light, friends

Earl wishes you some refuge today, friend.

May you find joy, friends

To quote the comic: Good thing Congress isn't alive to see this.

@astronot@mastodon.online Nice! Mine want to bloom so early that I only get monster crop like one out of three years. It’s hard to beat the flavor of a sun-ripened apricot. It’s my favorite crumble. Do you ever grill them? I tried it and *mind blown*

@FritzAdalis@infosec.exchange He was born looking like a late-career Walter Cronkite.

Fire virga over Santa Fe.

@sellathechemist@mastodon.social Why did I start singing that toot to the beat of the song WAP

@croyle@wandering.shop I hope so, good on ya

@IveyJanette@mastodon.social That is such a meaningful perspective. And that we could see he was losing his marbles in front of the world--and yet somehow even that was more rational that all this.

Sometime with all that is on fire it takes a good hike with the dogs to see, again, that these are the good times, friends. #dogs
