The Starlight Network

hi everyone!

I (alexia) wanted to use our platform to shoutout some places where TSN members need some help rn, so u can help a bit more directly than just the nebulous "donate to keep us running" :P

ofc, totally optional!! we won't go under or anything.

so, some members which need help right now:

• Nelson, main computer broke, fell back to one that's barely powerful enough to run his dev environment, trying to raise funds to keep working on makko and other software for TSN; you can see nelson's post about this

• pastthepixels, needs a new walker, a mobility aid! see this post by niko for more info

soon the world shall be graced with makko gold premium edition modified ultra bionic mega robot electronic 7 and knuckles

As a result of switching to NSOE though, our sites should now have substantially better protection against scrapers :)

chat. makko gold premium edition modified ultra bionic mega robot electronic 7 and knuckles is here. starlightnet.work/makko3-beta.html RE: shrimp.starlightnet.work/notes/almm6ibfk21tz845

and done, enjoy! :D

currently in Mynah 0.3.0 (indev):

• macOS support
• dark mode + better and more consistent UI styling (precursor to custom theming)
• receiving messages from other logged-in clients (and from contacts not in the contacts list)

also: at least 3 different exceptions and no UI on launch right now all of the logic is being reworked to allow for message storage after app close + fetching message history + better message search (and possibly more?) in 0.3.0 and purposefully letting everything else break (it'll be reworked later)

in proprietary platforms, development is always biased towards newer and better features regardless of (existing) quality being OSS decouples us from this requirement: we prioritise long-term experience over shinier buttons donating also helps us with this; you can donate to Mynah's maintainer here () or to the rest of TSN here

Just to be clear, we can likely cover costs out-of-pocket currently, but who knows how bad future prices may get.

@Cyborus perhaps it's the :neofox:

We have published the first draft of the official Code of Conduct for our spaces, heavily adapted from zig as we generally agree on things and their CoC is very clear. The PR for this is here, in case you want to comment on anything beforehand! forge.starlightnet.work/Team/Meta/pulls/31

After lots of work, here we are. For one, Makko 3.0 is released for everyone! You can read our post about it on our brand new website :) starlightnet.work/posts/new-stuff.html in addition to that post, @a5n5ceoufw4f6p85@shrimp.starlightnet.work has also written up a post about Yggdrasil, a fascinating routing scheme that's implemented on-top of the internet. starlightnet.work/posts/yggdrasil.html
