Whether we're on X, Mastadon, Facebook, Jira, Asana, GitHub, filing our taxes, or playing games, we're living in a world shaped by the use of "system design as a mechanism
for the prescription of a priori forms of social behavior".
Tomorrow we'll be meeting to discuss Lucy Suchman's essays "Do categories have politics?" and "Located accountabilities in technology production", which interrogate the nature of these prescriptive systems and help articulate alternatives.
