Does the new one look better or something? Or is it just the fact that it’s AI-written that’s getting people excited?

I don’t support CrApple (no /s)

Which project is it?

I found element quite alright compared to teams, honestly. I wish the EU actually invested money in matrix to make it better instead of just using the base and building a bunch of stuff on top of it.

The problem is the chair.

nixpkgs as a mono repo might’ve been a mistake, honestly. shithub wasn’t made for monorepos. It doesn’t have a permissions system for it. So many PRs get a bunch of inane comments that have nothing to do with the functionality to please somebody’s ego, the CODEOWNERS file is nearly worthless as “package maintainers” don’t even have the last say on their own packages, docs are nearly the last of the priorities making it difficult for pretty much anybody but the christened cream of the crop to make changes. It almost seems like the entire thing was made for “job security” - only a few people really understand what’s going on and thus make the decisions. That of course introduces a bottle-neck. Even if more people wanted to contribute, they wouldn’t be aren’t able to. I think the decision makers like it that way.

Where’s the code?

“Wants to”. They are just testing the waters for a response. I’ve been telling people for years that Apple is just better at marketing. They sell this image of better security and everything, but they are just big tech with a bigger smile and make up than the others. You trust Apple? You fell for the lies.

If they were gaming at work, maybe teamspeak would make sense.

Do you need somebody to talk to, bro? Get some water into yourself, have a snack, sober up, and call a friend or family.

Voice calls aren’t the issue. Teams isn’t just for calling

Who cares? It’s company code. They want AI, they get AI 🤷

Too obscure, I imagine

How is bun doing btw after their “We used 60 agents and 200k in tokens to rewrite in Rust” ?

Maybe but there is more to the outcome than just genes. Certain ones can be activated of deactivated and that can be done by epigentics for example. Gene expression is a thing. The AI would need way more information that just DNA to generate an image of the person.

Not enough people use it to be a target.

They just pretend to be.

No, they couldn’t, that’s what’s being said. If you have a huge state machine with billions of parameters, toggling a different subset can yield wildly different results.

Probably have a list of reasons why they shouldn’t be in the community either. “They said master branch is OK: drama time!”

We’ve led the industry in building and adopting Rust

Yeah, then you fired the team to pay the CEO a few million more.

We forget that it was a minority of them. The majority is like every other generation: kept disinterested and selfish.

I’m surprised they moved away from mailing lists. That took a lot of growth.

So? That’s nowhere near the same thing as what you’re suggesting “AI can just take DNA and make the same person”. Look up what twins actually are. They aren’t just DNA injected into some random person.

Does guix even use git? Are they still on cvs and mailing lists?

The fruit store has the decryption key to your data. It's just security theater. Stop storing sensitive data on the cloud if you dont encrypt it yourself. Unfortunately, they have excellent marketing and even techies fall for their lies.

3rd hint: their passwords are...

End to end encryption in a system they entire control is worthless. They even allow retrieving your data through a friend or with a recovery key. My, how convenient! Would be quite help if your recovery key were generated in, well dont you know it, their system. Aw shucks.

When's that movie coming out?

Are you able to send emails to the clearnet? If not, why not use I2P which has email built into the Java client?

It could've been a random list of accounts with similar passwords

The "Alt+F4 is a cheatcode" of our times.

Sending me marketing material from the fruit store just proves my point about their good marketing. You don't seriously believe you data is safe with them do you? They own the entire chain, from the entry of your password, to the storage of your data, and they can email you a recovery password or let a friend help you with recovering your data? Come on...

Isn’t that part of the problem described in the article? A shallow clone? Github has trouble with exactly that. Maybe it’s time the community stepped in an provided alternative solutions to nixpkgs. We can talk about them here, but in the end somebody has to implement them.

Wiped? What are you talking about? Could you explain what you’re experiencing and on which distro

Akkoma only has two instances and they are both down Sharkey is a Misskey fork and there don’t seem to be any instances. Misskey has instances, but none that I tried actually allow seeing the posts without logging in. To top it off, they all require approval. That is one of my biggest pet peeves with “public” software: requiring a login to even evaluate it. Wafrn looks kinda interesting. It does require clicking to see every layer of responses and the entire thread isn’t shown like in lemmy, but maybe that’s configurable. Thanks for sharing. It looks like I’d have to go shopping for the right software in order to get what I want 😅

wonders of C

It can interact with peertube, pixelfed, miskey, and many more things. Lemmy only really sees the threadiverse part of the fediverse. But he interface of mastodon isn’t threaded, so it’s unusable to me. I was point to Sharkey and akkoma, which I might try instead, but I feel quite comfortable here, honestly.

The ones I shared are active and accept new users. Have you tried one of them? If you want, I can request the account for you and then share the details with you.

VirusTotal is probably the best you can do. Although, I think it belongs to Amazon or some big company now after being bought up.

This is the documentation from git clone --help –depth= Create a shallow clone with a history truncated to the specified number of commits. Implies –single-branch unless –no-single-branch is given to fetch the histories near the tips of all branches. If you want to clone submodules shallowly, also pass –shallow-submodules.

Never was safe… read up on the maintainer.

The speech wasn’t for the officials, it was for the voters, young ones specifically. That’s why she mentions re-election at the end.

Support given. Categories? post one video post one image post one question to the fediverse e.g askfeddit post one article you read post one comment with an opinion post one comment saying thank you make one positive post Uh… Can’t think of anything else. Maybe post 2 videos instead of 1? Maybe make a comment on a video or post on or linking to another fediverse platform e.g comment on a peertube video or share a peertube video.

Interesting. I’ve never had that.

2 years and they still don’t know how to prompt…

Keep using it, I use it too.

Explain to me how a weight = an IF statement or a FOR loop

I do wonder how nix could solve the nixpkgs problem. In order to build it actually requires the recipes to calculate the hash with which it builds the store path. Fixed output hashes could be part of the solution. A map of package and version to hash and outPath maybe? But for building from scratch e.g new packages, where would the recipes be stored? I think it would have to be in git, but where would that be stored? A monorepo again? Then we’d be back at nixpkgs.

Would you mind syncing that to peertube, mate? There’s makertube.net , dalek.zone , indymotion.fr , peertube.wtf, tilvids.com and many others
