Coming up SOON! today, Tuesday, 23:00 UTC (that's 6:00 PM Wisconsin, 4:00 PM Pacific) - Praise Then Darkness Ep. 213: Feel Free! Had a *bit* of free time recently, went to a bonfire at a friend's place since I figured I wasn't gonna sleep through all the BOOM BOOMs in the neighborhood anyway - drank some beer, listened to some music, burned the American flag. Anyway, tune in for some good music! Rock, folk, funk/hip-hop(ish?), etc., on the general theme of freedom, anti-war, etc. On anonradio.net of sdf.org !

“Generartions” in the way that they’re titled and so on are mostly a marketing scam (the “baby boom” was an actual demographic phenomenon, which has had an echo), but tbh I feel like “young Gen X, older Millennial” - say, born roughly 1974-1989, feels like a much more legible “generation” to me. Maybe it’s just because it’s the range where most of my (many) cousins fell within, idk

Coming up SOON! today, Tuesday, 23:00 UTC (that’s 6:00 PM Wisconsin, 7:00 PM Eastern) - Praise Then Darkness Ep. 214: Life, Laugh, Lock & Load. A good friend of mine from college who is a LOT of fun and who I haven’t seen in about 10 years came to visit - they seem to be doing a lot better than in a while! Anyway, the show is “inspired by.” Lots of rock, a little other stuff. On anonradio.net of sdf.org !

I used a phrase tonight, "spiritually depraved and misery-inducing landscapes of North America" - I got it straight from this guy, who has a *fantastic* channel with all kinds of good stuff. Found him when I was all laid up from surgery for a while and was surfing around watching a fair bit of stuff.

Coming up SOON! today, Tuesday, 23:00 UTC (that's 6:00 PM Wisconsin, 7:00 PM Eastern) - Praise Then Darkness Ep. 206: Having An Average Weekend. To paraphrase @pizzapal@mastodon.sdf.org, "the melancholy of the ephemeral-ness of unextraordinary things." In music. (It's a bit of a genre mix but there's a lot of what I think you would call "indie / alt rock.") On anonradio.net of sdf.org !

The language of Animorphs may be geared more-or-less towards about 12-year-olds, but I'll hold to the fact that it's pretty much a radical anti-fascist book series with also some real human(sentient-being) moral nuance - I've been on a re-reading streak lol. (There is of course some fun kid humor and such but also... goddamn does it get dark.) Also, K.A. Applegate is pretty much the anti-J.K. Rowling - she has been seen in a trans rights T-shirt.
