Another AI argument: "I'm studying Japanese and asked Claude to make flashcards based on the grammar points in my Japanese textbook, and it did in minutes what it would have taken me hours"
What if I told you that the act of making the flashcards is studying? When I went through the Naval Nuclear Program I went through a very similar process of making flashcards for all the things we would be tested on. I never actually had to use the cards. Making them was all I needed to do to sufficiently remember.
There is no way to optimize your way out of the learning process. It always takes the same amount of effort in the end.
Richard Dawkins talking to Claude and immediately going "Oh, you're nice to me. You must be a conscious entity, and a lady" is so funny.
Basically the worst thing that can happen to any game studio is releasing a wildly successful live service game.

Not entirely sure why Mastodon needs lists, collections, and "featured profiles" pinned to your profile. You know what would be cooler than a collection of profiles? A collection of specific posts, so artists could make galleries.

Call me absolute horses but I think you should be able to go to any company and request that they delete all their information about you.

The latest Star Fox designs don't go far enough. They should look like actual animals that have been cybernetically uplifted. I want to see no humanlike intelligence behind Fox's beady little predator eyes.

I don't like that the standard language is that charging a lithium battery to 80% is safe and 100% will slowly degrade battery performance. It should be 100% and you can opt in to charging to 120% with the understanding that this will degrade your battery.

Sort of like pinned posts, but on a separate linkable page. Artist galleries, posts about a specific topic (like an ongoing project), that sort of thing. Similar to what you can do with tagging, but more deliberate.

My partner struggles with ideas for gifts for me so I started a video game pin collection on my MiSTer.
But then I let slip that I started the collection so they would have something to get me and now they don't get me pins anymore :(

@6@possum.city whatever algorithm they use does not handle it well when you already own part of the bundle, which is funny given they advertise "Complete your collection!"
I once had one that was like "Do you want to buy this game, or this discounted two game bundle but you already own one of the games?" It was $1 less to buy the "bundle."
